Admission Procedure

Admissions in the medical courses in the state of Andhra Pradesh are done on the basis of results of the NEET examinations. To get enrolled in MBBS & BDS courses in the state of Andhra Pradesh a candidate has to appear and subsequently qualify in the NEET 2023 examinations.

Entrance Exams

National Eligibility cum Entrance test is the only examination through which the admissions in MBBS & BDS courses take place as there is no separate entrance test for admission in Andhra Pradesh conducted by any government or private university for either medical or dental courses.

Andhra Pradesh MBBS/BDS Admission 2023

Given below are the eligibility criteria that a candidate needs to satisfy in order to enroll themselves in the M.B.B.S and B.D.S courses in Andhra Pradesh.

• The Candidate has to be an Indian Citizen to take admission in the medical colleges of Andhra Pradesh.
• Candidates who possess the OCI card (Overseas Citizen of India) will also be eligible to take admission in the MBBS and BDS courses offered by the medical colleges of Andhra Pradesh.
• Candidates must have the local domicile of the state.
• The age of the applicants needs to be 17 years on or before 31^st December of the year in which admission is sought.
• Candidates must have passed 12^th/equivalent exam from a recognized board of secondary education.
• Candidates must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany, Zoology) / Biotechnology and English at the higher secondary level.
• Candidates must have secured 50% marks at the higher secondary level of the examination.
• The candidates of the reserved category will be eligible to take admission in the medical institutes with 45% marks.

Selection Process

To become a student in the MBBS/ BDS colleges of Andhra Pradesh a candidate mandatorily has to appear and qualify in the NEET 2023 test after which the interested candidates can apply online for the seats through AP MBBS 2023. After filling the application form with necessary personal and academic details the candidates needs to pay the application fees.

The Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences will conduct the counselling and candidates are required to fill their choice of colleges and courses. The candidates then need to submit the original copies of the required documents to the authorities for verification purpose. After successful verification of documents the candidates will be allotted seat according to their rank and preference. They have to undertake Physical Fitness test and provide the fitness report while reporting to the college to get enrolled in the allotted course.
