Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat
Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (VNSGU), Surat, formerly known as South Gujarat University is the Public University founded in the year 1965. It is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). As per 2013-2014, the University grants the affiliation to 282 colleges. In 2004, the University has been awarded as B++ by National Board of Accreditation and Assessment Council (NAAC). Around 3000 students are involved in the wide variety of courses offered by the University. The University offers courses in law, architecture, science, arts, commerce and many more.
Campus
The University campus covers the area of around 210 acres of land. The location of the campus is at Udhana – Magdalla Road, Someshwar Char Rasta, Near University College, Choryasi Ta, Surat, Gujarat. It offers the conducive academic environment for the comfortable learning of the students. The campus accommodates 80 buildings that include 6 boys and 5 girls hostels.
Facilities
The campus is facilitated with all the facilities that meet the requirements of the students. Besides girls and boys hostels, there are residential quarters for staff members. It also houses labs of all departments equipped with modern equipments and having access internet access. It has a central library housing 1.72 lakh books, 242 journals and 6000 e-journals. The campus also consists of the amenities like gymnasium, day care centre, fitness centre, playground for sports activities, health care centre, indoor stadium, etc.
Programmes
Currently, the University regulates many courses. It offers both under-graduate and post-graduate courses. It conducts regular MBA programme in several disciplines. This is the 2-year duration course splits into 4 semesters. It also runs law courses as listed below:

Placement
The University has the placement team consists of the faculties having the knowledge and experience with industries. The activities undertaken by the placement cell are mock interviews, group discussion, personal interview, etc. Major recruiters are Reliance Industries Ltd, Shell Co Ltd, Hindustan Lever Ltd, ABB India and many more.
