CLAT Counselling 2025: The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has started the CLAT 2025 counselling.

Counselling registration begins on 17th May, and candidates have till 21st May 2025 to submit the form.

As a part of CLAT counselling admissions process, candidates who will be allotted a seat at any will get ‘Freeze,’ ‘Float,’ or ‘Exit’ options that they may select.

CLAT Counselling 2025 Freeze, Float & Exit Options

Freeze Option: This option allows candidates to accept the seat allotted if they are satisfied and don’t want to take part in further rounds of seat allotment. To select a freeze seat candidates will be required to pay seat confirmation fees finalize their seat and withdraw from subsequent rounds.

For the CLAT 2025 counselling, if candidates freeze seats in first, and second rounds, then they are required to pay the complete counselling and university fee to the selected NLU by June 14, 2025. Those who will freeze seats in third/fourth or final rounds will have to complete fee submission by 27th June 2025.

Float Option: If candidates didn’t get the preferred NLU then they can select this option of float. Candidates can select the float option if they choose to leave their current seat at an NLU to pursue a higher preference.

Candidates who choose the Float Option must select to either ‘Freeze’ the allocated seat or ‘Exit’ the Admissions Counselling Process by the end of the fifth round of counselling.

Exit Option: After completing the CLAT counselling registration, if any of the candidates do not want to continue further for counselling process, they can select the “exit” option. For candidates who have selected the freeze or float option before selecting the exit option, the selected seat or allocated seat to them will be given to another candidate. No seats will be allocated to the candidate once the exit option.

As per the CLAT counselling schedule for the 2025 session, the last day to complete payment to the university is June 27, 2025, by 5.00 PM. Once the deadline is over no requests or adjustments will be made by the authority.
