CLAT Exam Update:  The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has released the guidelines for Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) for CLAT 2026.

All the PWD candidates applying and going to take the upcoming Common Law Admission Test are required to go through the guidelines.

The notification, issued in line with the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment Guidelines dated August 1, 2025, ensures fair and accessible examination conditions for candidates with disabilities.

What Are the CLAT 2026 Guidelines for PwD Candidates?

The Consortium of National Law Universities has introduced new rules to make the CLAT 2026 exam fair and accessible for candidates with disabilities.

PwD candidates will receive 20 minutes of extra time per hour, which translates to 40 additional minutes for the two-hour paper. They can also use a scribe or reader if they have blindness, cerebral palsy, locomotor disability, or any certified limitation in writing. Even those with less than 40% disability can request this support if backed by a valid medical certificate.

Anyone requiring a scribe or special assistance must notify the Consortium by emailing [email protected] and copying [email protected] at least 10 days prior to the exam.

All CLAT 2026 centres will be barrier-free, with ramps, accessible seating, and medical support available. A dedicated grievance redressal team will also be on standby to resolve any PwD-related concerns. These changes reflect the Consortium’s effort to make CLAT 2026 inclusive and fair for every student appearing on 7th December 2025.

In conclusion, for the notice, the official reads that “The Consortium is committed to conducting CLAT 2026 in full compliance with the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 201,6, and the revised Guidelines of Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment dated 01.08.2025. These measures are designed to ensure that every candidate, regardless of disability, can take the examination with dignity, fairness, and equal opportunity.

The CLAT 2026 registration is ongoing. The application form was released on 01st August 2025, and the last day to apply is 31st October 2025. Only a few days are left for all the eligible candidates are advised to submit their for within the deadline successfully.
