Uttarakhand is a state in the North Indian region of Himalayas. It was formerly called as Uttaranchal. Uttarakhand is popularly known as Devbhumi (Land of the Gods) because of many Hindu temples and pilgrimage centres. It allures tourists from all over the world. Char Dham

Uttarakhand is famous for its Char Dham Yatra. It literally means “Journey to four centres”. The four religious centres in Uttarakhand are Badrinath (devoted to Lord Vishnu), Kedarnath (devoted to Lord Shiva), Gangotri (the holy origin of river Ganga) and Yamunotri (the holy origin of river Yamuna). Every year, the Char Dham Yatra starts around the first to second week of May.

Panch Prayag

Panch Prayag is constitutes a group of five sacred rivers. It located in the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand. The five river confluences are Vishnu Prayag, Karn Prayag, Nand Prayag, Rudra Prayag and Dev Prayag.

Panch Kedar

Panch Kedar refers to five Hindu temples or holy places of the Shaivite sect. It is devoted to god Shiva. They are situated in the Garhwal Himalayan region in Uttarakhand. The five temples are the Kedarnath, Tungnath, Rudranath, Madhyamaheshwar and Kalpeshwar.

Rishikesh

Rishikesh is known as the “Yoga Capital of the World”. It is also known for its adventurous activities such as trekking, rafting and camping captivate nature lovers. WildLife

Some of the other national parks are Rajaji National Park, Valley of Flowers National Park, Nanda Devi National Park, Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuaries, Govind National Park and Assan Barrage National Park.
