CLAT Exam Analysis 2026
CLAT exam has been successfully conducted on 7th December 2025. It was conducted in offline mode from 2pm to 4 pm. Overall most of the students considered the exam moderate in difficulty level.
As per various test takers, the overall paper was tough. The logical reasoning section was considered tough on comparison with other subjects. Some students stated their maximum time went in logical reasoning section because it was a bit tough.
According to the notice released by Consortium of NLUs about CLAT 2026, exam was conducted smoothly at 156 centres in 25 states, 93 cities and 4 UTs.
This year, total of 92,344 students applied – 75009 for CLAT UG and 17335 for CLAT PG. 96.83% students appeared for UG paper whereas 92.45% students for PG paper.
CLAT Answer Key 2026
Candidates will be able to check their answer key only through online mode. The Consortium will release the provisional answer key first. It will be made available in PDF format. Students can also make objections against provisional answer key by logging into the website and clicking on button provided for provisional answer key objections.
Final Answer Key will be released after considering the objections. CLAT 2026 Answer Key contains correct answers of all the questions which were asked in the examination. With the use of answer key, candidates can get a rough estimate about how much they will be scored in the examination.
The answer key comprised of following details such as:
- Participant ID
- Participant Name
- Test Center Name
- Test Date
- Test Time
- Subject
- Marks Obtained
The answer key contains the correct answers of all the questions that are asked in the examination. With the help of the answer key, students can get a rough idea that how much marks and score they can secure in the examination.
Hence, after the exams the students need not to wait for the results as they are able to calculate their marks from the answer key.
CLAT Provisional Answer Key 2026:
Candidates will be able to check provisional answer key on 10th December 2025. The preliminary answer key can help the candidates to know their expected number of correct & incorrect answers.
It can also help the candidates in filing objections against the wrong question (if any) & get them rectified before the announcement of result. Challenge window will be available from 10th to 12th December 2025.
CLAT Final Answer Key 2026:
The final & amended answer key will be released by the examination committee in third week of December 2025. It will be published after completion of answer key objection process.
It helps the candidates to know final answers of the CLAT questions. With the help of final answer key, candidates can know the rough marks in the examination.

How to Make Objection Against CLAT Key
Candidates may have objections if they will find any question(s) wrong or any discrepancies in the question paper. Objection against key can be filed till 12th December 2025 (5 pm) against the incorrect questions or their answer options with an online representation system. It can be submitted via online mode.
CLAT Marking Scheme
There will be procedure of negative marking for objective type questions. The question paper of UG courses will be of 200 marks & PG course question paper will be of 150 marks. Candidates will be awarded with one mark for each correct response. For incorrect response, 0.25 marks will get deducted.
