CMC Vellore 2024 Exam Pattern

Candidates can check the complete exam pattern of CMC Vellore entrance exams for admission into MBBS (through NEET), Group A admissions and Group B Courses:

For MBBS (Through NEET):

  • Exam Date: NEET exam will be organised on 5th May 2024.
  • Exam Mode: The examination will be conducted through offline mode (paper based).
  • Number of Question: It contain only one question paper which comprises of 200 questions, out of which candidates have to answer 180 questions.
  • Type of Question: Questions will be objective type. Each question will contain four optional answers; students are required to mark the correct answer only.
  • Exam Duration: The exam duration will be three hours and twenty minutes.
  • Subjects: The question papers will be composed of four sections i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology.
  • Question Paper Language: The language of the question will be English, Hindi, Tamil, Assamese, Oriya, Kannada, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Urdu, and Telugu.

NEET Marking Scheme 2024

Marking scheme of NEET 2024 examination is mentioned below:

  • Total Marks: The question paper will bear total 720 maximum marks.
  • Marking Scheme: Each question will contain four marks. Total four marks will be given for each correct answer.
  • Negative Marking: There will be negative marking in this examination; one mark will be deducted for each incorrect response.
  • Candidates are required to use only blue/black ball point pen to mark their answers.
  • Candidates note down multiple answers for one question will lead to the negative marking.

Group A Programmes (Except for MBBS):

  • Exam Mode: Group A Entrance Test will be conducted through CBT Mode.
  • Type of questions: The exam paper will contain multiple choice questions.
  • Mode Language: The entrance test will be conducted in English.
  • Number of questions: For degree courses (B.Sc. Nursing/ AHS Degree) there will be 60 questions each in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The Aptitude Assessment Test will contain total 120 questions in General Ability – 60 questions in Section I and 60 questions in Section II.
  • Time Duration: Total 120 Minutes will be provided for the examination.
  • Subjects: Question Paper for Group A Programmes will contain questions from Physics, Biology and Chemistry. Also there will be questions for Aptitude Assessment test which will contain questions of General Ability and few questions on issues of current topical interest.

Group B Diploma Programmes:

  • Exam Mode: Group B Entrance Test will be conducted through CBT Mode.
  • Type of questions: The exam paper will contain multiple choice questions.
  • Mode Language: The entrance test will be conducted in English.
  • Number of questions: The test in Science Paper will contain 25 questions each in Physics, Biology and Chemistry and 15 questions General Ability.
  • Time Duration: The total time given to complete the paper will be of 90 Minutes.
  • Subjects: Questions in the test will be from Physics, Biology, Chemistry and General Ability. Also there will be few questions related to issues of current topical interest.

Group B (Non Science) Programmes:

  • Exam Mode: Group B (Non Science) Entrance Test will be organized through CBT Mode.
  • Mode Language: The entrance test will be conducted in English.
  • Type of questions: The exam paper will contain multiple choice questions.
  • Number of questions: The Non Science Paper will contain total of 90 questions.
  • Time Duration: The total time for completing the test will be of 90 Minutes.
  • Subjects: The questions in the paper will be of general nature related to very Basic Science, Current Awareness, General Ability and General Knowledge.

Below we have provided the complete marking scheme of the entrance test for various programmes:

  • No negative marking for incorrect answers.
  • +1 Mark is given for each correct answer.
  • No marks will be awarded or deducted for un attempted questions. However in case of degree courses (AHS degree courses/Nursing), credit equal to 1/5 (0.2) of the mark is given for un attempted questions.

  1. What is the level of paper ? Should i study 11th and 12th syllabus in depth or just basics will do? Where can I get previous years entrance exam paper?

    1. CMC Vellore 2024 syllabus is based on class 11th & 12th. For previous year question paper, you can check in google.

  2. Exact how many questions are there to be attempted in each subject in 196 min. Please I am not getting any previous year question paper so not getting exact number of questions.
