GATE Exam Update: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati is yet to release the GATE 2026 admit cards on the official website.
Once released to check and download the admit card, candidates will be required to log in GATE portal by entering their enrolment ID/ email ID and password.
All the candidates whose GATE 2026 application form has been submitted successfully and approved by the authority are eligible to take the examination.
What is GATE 2026 Admit Card Date?
As per the latest announcement, GATE 2026 admit card release date was postponed. The entrance exam is scheduled to start on 7th February 2026, therefore it is expected that IIT Guwahati will release hall tickets 15-20 days before the exam date as per last year trends.
Earlier, the IIT Guwahati had officially announced the GATE admit card release date through the information bulletin under the important dates section. It was scheduled to release on 2nd January 2026.
The mode to download it is going to be online only, the authority is not going to release any admit card via post or through offline mode.
Candidates note that the date is liable to change, so if there are going to be any changes for the GATE admit card release again, the authority will update candidates at gate2026.iitg.ac.in

Exam Day Guidelines
On the GATE exam day all the candidates are required to carry one hardcopy of their admit card along with one ID proof. No candidate will be allowed to enter the exam centre without the required documents. Details such as exam name, shift, timings, date, and exam centre will be mentioned in the hall ticket.
Once candidates are allotted to any exam centre than they are not allowed to change it. In no case can candidates change details in their GATE 2026 admit card. If done, they will not be allowed to take the exam.
As per the GATE 2026 schedule, the exam will take place on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026, in two shifts. The mode of the exam is computer-based, and candidates will get 3 hours to complete.
