State Exam
The admissions in various engineering colleges of Goa is done through the JEE Main and Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET) also known as GCET exam. The GCET 2016 is conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Goa for admissions to the first year of B.Tech and other Professional Degree courses in the State of Goa. The application for JEE Mains 2016 has been provided in the month of December 2015.
B.Tech Admission 2016
The candidates have to secure a good rank in engineering entrance tests in order to take admission in engineering colleges of Goa. Passed out or appearing candidates of class 12th can give JEE Main and GCET exam. Diploma holders can also take lateral entry to second year B.Tech. They must fulfill eligibility criteria for B.Tech Admission 2016.
- For admissions to the first year of B.Tech, candidates have to meet the JEE Main 2016 and GCET 2016 rank criteria.
- Counselling will be held for allotment of seats.
- For Goa B.Tech 2016 admission, candidates must have passed 10+2 in Physics and Mathematics as necessary subjects along with one of the optional subjects with at least 45% marks, in case of SC/ST category the student have scored 40% of aggregate marks from a recognized board.
- Candidate must be permanent residents of Goa and must meet the domicile requirements.

Documents Required
The candidates interested in B.Tech admission need to keep a set of documents as given below:
- Category Certificate(for SC/ST/OBC candidates)
- Domicile Certificate as a proof of permanent residency of Goa
- 10+2 mark sheet and certificate
- Entrance exam admit card carried while exam
- Score card as a proof of rank scored in entrance exam
- Allotment letter
Selection Process
The selection procedure for B.Tech admission 2016 for Goa state will be through on the basis of All India Ranks of JEE Main 2016, state rank of GCET 2016 and on the basis of 12th examination. The candidates have to undergo through B.Tech councelling process conducted by various Universities and institutions. The counselling process is inclusive of online registration, college choices, reporting at the college allotted, fee payment and reporting at the institute.
