Manipal University Scholarship 2024: Eligibility & Apply Guidelines
Manipal University is an Institution of Eminence Deemed to be University. It started its operations in 1953 by establishing the first self-financing medical college as public private collaboration. In June 1993, the Government of India has declared this group of institutions as Deemed to be University. The Ministry of Education, Govt. of India has declared this university as an Institution of Eminence Deemed to be University (IoE) in October 2020.
Manipal Academy of Higher Education offers 300+ UG and 31 stream in PG and PhD programs to the candidates. It also offers lateral entry admission to seven UG courses. The admission to MAHE (Manipal University) are based on MAHE MET (Manipal entrance exam), national level entrance exam and merit list. It’s depend on the nature of the program chosen by the candidates.

Kalam-Pai, Free ship and Scholars Scholarship for MBBS & BDS:
The MAHE Manipal Awards “Kalam – Pai”, “Freeship” and “Scholar” scholarship is offered for UG programs, MBBS at Kasturba Medical College (KMC) Manipal, KMC, Mangalore and MTMC, Jamshedpur and BDS course at Manipal College of Dental Sciences (MCODS) & MCODS, Mangalore.
Scholarship Guidelines:
The seat taken together is limited to 5% of the General category intake, and the total Scholarship seats program-wise and campus-wise is given below:

Minimum eligibility criteria requirements to apply for this Scholarship is, candidates must score 80% aggregate of Physics + Chemistry + Biology in class 10+2 from recognized board.
Merit Scholarship for Post Graduate (PG) Medical / Dental and Super Specialty (SS) Program:
Manipal University awards merit scholarship for PG and SS program at various KMC & MCODS Colleges across India.To avail this scholarship for MD course, candidates must pass in MBBS degree from an institution/ University recognized by National Medical Council (NMC)/ erstwhile Medical Council of Indian (MCI).
For MDS scholarship, candidates must pass in BDS degree form an institution/ University recognized by Dental Council of India (DCI). For DM/ MCh, candidates must pass in MD/ DNB from required specialization from an institution/ university recognized by NMC/ erstwhile MCI.
Free ship, Scholar and Achiever Scholarship for BTech:
The Scholarship for B.Tech. program is offered to the meritorious students by the MAHE Manipal at MIT, Manipal and MIT, Bengaluru.
Candidates with 80% aggregate of Mathematics + Physics + Optional subject in class 10+2 from recognized board can apply for the Scholarship. To apply for B.Tech. program scholarship, candidates must obtain minimum 8 CGPA & above with no backlogs in semester 1 of BTech program.

Free ship, Scholar and Achiever Scholarship for B.Pharm:
This Scholarship is offered to the meritorious candidates admitted to the BPharm program at Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MCOPS) Manipal.
Candidates with 80% in Chemistry + Physics + Biology/ Mathematics in class 12th from a recognized board can apply. The Freeship and Scholar category Scholarship put together, 5% of the general category intake and is applicable for the whole program duration.
Merit Scholarship for MTech / ME programs:
Manipal University offers this scholarship to candidates to the MTech/ ME program at MIT, Manipal and MSIS, Manipal.
To be eligible for the Scholarship, aspirants must be pass in BE/ BTech in a relevant branch from a recognized university. Candidates must score at least 50% aggregate marks or equivalent. The Manipal Entrance Test (MET) rank for MTech/ ME program will be required to apply for the Scholarship.
Scholar and Achiever Scholarship for All Other UG & PG Programs:
The Scholar and Achiever Scholarship for various UG and PG programs is offers by the university at Manipal, Mangalore and Bangalore Campus.
The offered program minimum intake must be 10 and minimum number of admission must be 5. As per the selection criteria, candidates must score 80% marks in class 10+2 from a recognized board for UG program. For PG program, candidates must score at least 70% aggregate in undergraduate level from a recognized university.
Scholarships for Academy of General Education Students (SAGES):
The SAGES Scholarships is offered by the MAHE Manipal to candidates who have studied the following from any of the Academy of General Education (AGE)/ Dr. TMA Pai Foundation institutions.
- For UG Courses, 2 years (11th & 12th) of pre-university course (PUC)
- For PG Courses, 3 years of degree course (all years/ semesters).
- For lateral entry to BTech courses, 3 years (6 Semesters) of Diploma is required.
Merit Scholarship for B.Sc. Nursing:
The Scholarship to B.Sc. Nursing is offered to the candidates by Manipal College of Nursing (MCON) Manipal.
This Scholarship will be offered to the topmost 15 MET rank candidates who complete the admission formalities in the first round of the admission process. Candidates must score 80% in Physics + Chemistry + Biology taken together in class 12th from a recognized board.
