JEE Main 2017 Counselling

Candidates will be called for counselling procedure as per their rank obtained in the merit list. The JEE Main 2017 Counselling for third round has been started from 10th July 2017. Counselling is handled by JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority). The JoSAA counselling 2017 has been divided into various rounds. After each round allotment result will be announced separately. The special round counselling has been started from 27th July 2017. CSAB is organizing the special counselling round.

JEE Main 2017 Admission Procedure

JEE Main 2017 Admission process will commence after the JEE Main counselling process is over. Candidates will be required to submit their documents in to the alloted colleges and complete the admission formalities including paying the admission fees etc.

JEE Main 2017 Result

The JEE Main 2017 result (Paper 1) was declared on 27th April, 2017. CBSE has also released the JEE main cut off and All india rank for paper 1. All India Rank & Result for JEE Main (Paper 2) was released on 26th May 2017. Candidates can check the JEE Main Result 2017 through the official site. Students are required to enter their roll number and date of birth and click on the submit button to generate their score card. After the result announcement, merit list will be prepared only on the basis of JEE Main Score. From the year 2017 board marks will not be taken in to account for preparing JEE main merit, but candidates who wish to take admission in to IIT’s, IIIT’s, NIT’s, CFTI’s must score atleast 75% in their class 12th board exams as the mandatory eligibility.

Display of Answer Key

The answer key & recorded responses (official) of Paper-2 was released on 11th May 2017. JEE Main 2017 answer key, images of response sheets (OMR sheets) and question paper can be downloaded from the above notification section. JEE Main 2017 unofficial answer key has been released after few hours of the examination. Candidates can also challenge the recorded responses if not satisfied with the answers available in OMR sheet. Each response can be challenged against the payment of Rs. 1000/-.

JEE Main 2017 Cut-off

JEE Main 2017 official cut off has been released. The cutoff is lowest this year when compared to the last 5 year. The cut-off is the minimum score required by the candidates to get admission in the top colleges of the country. The JEE Main 2017 Cut-off will be decided by various factors such as number of students appearing for the exam, difficulty level of exam, etc. Here we have mentioned the official JEE Main 2017 cut-off:

Get your OMR Sheet & Calculation Sheet

Board has decided to provide the photocopy of OMR Sheet and Calculation Sheet to the candidates appeared in JEE Main 2017 exam. Interested candidates can make a request to the board along with the Requisite Fee of Rs. 500/- (as Demand Draft of any bank) in favor of Secretary, CBSE payable at Delhi/New Delhi. The last date to apply for OMR & Calculation Sheet is 27th May 2017. Applications which will be received after 27th May will not be entertained.

In application, candidates have to mention their Roll Number, Name and Address correctly. Name and Roll No. must also be mentioned on the back-side of DD. The photocopy of the OMR Sheet & Calculation Sheet will be provided to the candidates by speed post only. The application should be reach by speed post or by hand to the address at  JEE Unit, CBSE, H-149, Sector-63, NOIDA 201309.

What is New in JEE Main 2017?

  • The weightage of 12th marks is not considered for calculating JEE Main Rank from 2017.
  • There is no minimum criteria for 12th percentage for appearing in JEE Main 2017 exam.
  • For the candidates to qualify for the admission in the IITs/NITs/IIITs and such other CFTIs whose admissions are based on the JEE (Advanced)/JEE(Main) ranks, they should have secured at least 75% marks in the 12th class examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class examination conducted by the respective Boards. For SC/ST students the qualifying marks would be 65% in the 12th class examination.
  • All the Indian citizen candidates should possess AADHAAR card issued by UIDAI. At the time of filling application form of JEE (Main)–2017, the candidates are required to enter their AADHAAR number, name, date of birth & gender which are also validated with the UIDAI’s data. In case, these particulars do not match, the candidates will not be able to fill the application form for JEE (Main)–2017. Therefore, the candidates are advised to ensure that their AADHAAR card has correct details of their name, date of birth & gender as per school records. If there is some mismatch in these details, the candidates should immediately get it corrected in AADHAAR data or school records, as the case may be. JEE Main Answer Key 2017 has been released on 2nd April 2017 for Pen and Paper based Examination and on 8th and 9th April for CBT (Computer Based Examination). Answer key has been released by various reputed coaching institutions like Aakash, Resonance, FIIT-JEE, etc.

JEE Main Admit Card

The JEE Main 2017 Admit Card was released by the authority on 14th March, 2017. Candidates can download the admit card from the official website of JEE Main. To download the admit card, candidates were required to provide their roll number and board details of 12th class or equivalent exam on the official website of JEE Main.

JEE Main 2017 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates are suggested to check the JEE Main 2017 eligibility criteria before applying:

  • Age Limit: Candidate’s date of birth should fall on or after 01 October, 1992 for general candidates and 01, October 1987 for SC, ST and PwD candidates.
  • Candidates appearing/passed 12th or equivalent exam in 2015 or 2016 with PCM are eligible to apply.
  • Candidates who have passed 12th or equivalent exam in 2014 are not eligible to apply.
  • Number of Subjects in 12th: Aspirants should have minimum five subjects in 12th/qualifying examination.
  • Number of Attempts: Candidate can attempt JEE Main exam three times only.
  • Diploma (3 years) holders are also eligible to apply.

JEE Main 2017 Application Form

  • Candidates are required to fill the JEE Main Application Form 2017 only through online process. The application form was available from 1st December 2016.
  • Except online mode, No other modes was entertained to fill and submit the application form.
  • The last date to fill the application form was 16th January, 2017. Now, the application form has been closed.
  • Candidate can submit only one application form. More than one application form filling will lead to rejection.
  • There was no need to send the printed application form to the CBSE Board.

Application Fee:

The application fee payment can be made through two modes online mode (debit/credit card) or offline mode (e-challan of Syndicate/Canara/ICICI/HDFC Bank). Application fee can be paid till 18th January 2017.

JEE Main Application Form Correction:

  • Candidates get a chance to make correction in the aadhaar details.
  • Changes from CBT to PBT is not been entertained during the correction.
  • Correction period (in images) has been announced from 10th December, 2016.
  • Correction in particulars of application form has been started from 25th January to 3rd February 2017.
  • Any further corrections in application form after closing the correction period will not be entertained.
  • Only selected and permitted entries may be modified.

JEE Main 2017 Exam Pattern

The JEE Main 2017 exam pattern for paper I and Paper II is given below:

JEE Main Paper I:

  • Courses: It is held for engineering courses (B.Tech/BE).
  • Number of Questions: It is consisted of 90 MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions).
  • Subjects: The paper will be asked from subjects as Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  • Language: Hindi, English (candidates can select while filling the application form)
  • Mode: It will be commenced via both; online & offline.
  • Exam Timings: 9:30 to 12:30 (paper-1) and 2:00 to 5:00 (paper-2)
  • Duration: 3 hours.  (4 hours for the candidates having 40% or more disability)
  • Marking Scheme: 4 marks for each correct response.
  • Negative Marking: 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect response or multi-responses.

JEE Main Paper II:

  • Duration: 3 hours. (4 hours for the candidates having 40% or more disability)
  • Marking Scheme: 4 marks for each correct response (2 questions of drawing will carry 70 marks).
  • Negative Marking: 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect or multi-responses.

Preparation Tips

Candidates may check the JEE Main preparation tips for scoring well in the exam. Every year a large number of candidates appear to this exam. First of all, candidates should prepare for this exam as per officially prescribed syllabus. Candidates should gather the best study materials for preparation. JEE Main 2017 Syllabus

Before preparing for exam, candidates are advised to gather complete information regarding JEE Main Syllabus 2017. JEE Main 2017 syllabus will be composed of paper 1 and paper 2 syllabus. JEE main paper 1 will be asked for the B.Tech (Engineering) while paper 2 will be asked for architecture (B.Arch).

 JEE Main 2018
