newiconWhat is New in JEE Main 2017?

  • The weightage of 12th marks will not be considered for calculating JEE Main Rank from 2017.
  • There is no minimum criteria for 12th percentage for appearing in JEE Main 2017 exam.
  • For the candidates to qualify for the admission in the IITs/NITs/IIITs and such other CFTIs whose admissions are based on the JEE (Advanced)/JEE(Main) ranks, they should have secured at least 75% marks in the 12th class examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class examination conducted by the respective Boards. For SC/ST students the qualifying marks would be 65% in the 12th class examination.
  • All the Indian citizen candidates should possess AADHAAR card issued by UIDAI. At the time of filling application form of JEE (Main)–2017, the candidates will have to enter their AADHAAR number, name, date of birth & gender which will be validated with the UIDAI’s data.  In case, these particulars do not match, the candidates will not be able to fill the application form for JEE (Main)–2017. Therefore, the candidates are advised to ensure that their AADHAAR card has correct details of their name, date of birth & gender as per school records. If there is some mismatch in these details, the candidates should immediately get it corrected in AADHAAR data or school records, as the case may be. JEE Main Admit Card

The JEE Main 2017 Admit Card is released by the authority on 14th March, 2017. Candidates can download the admit card from the official website of JEE Main. To download the admit card, candidates are required to provide their roll number and board details of 12th class or equivalent exam on the official website of JEE Main.

JEE Main 2017 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates are suggested to check the JEE Main 2017 eligibility criteria before applying:

  • Age Limit: Candidate’s date of birth should fall on or after 01 October, 1992 for general candidates and 01, October 1987 for SC, ST and PwD candidates.
  • Candidates appearing/passed 12th or equivalent exam in 2015 or 2016 with PCM are eligible to apply.
  • Candidates who have passed 12th or equivalent exam in 2014 are not eligible to apply.
  • Number of Subjects in 12th: Aspirants should have minimum five subjects in 12th/qualifying examination.
  • Number of Attempts: Candidate can attempt JEE Main exam three times only.
  • Diploma (3 years) holders are also eligible to apply.

JEE Main 2017 Application Form

  • Candidates are required to fill the JEE Main Application Form 2017 only through online process. The application form was available from 1st December 2016.
  • Except online mode, No other modes was entertained to fill and submit the application form.
  • The last date to fill the application form was 16th January, 2017. Now, the application form has been closed.
  • Candidate can submit only one application form. More than one application form filling will lead to rejection.
  • There was no need to send the printed application form to the CBSE Board.

Application Fee:

The application fee payment can be made through two modes online mode (debit/credit card) or offline mode (e-challan of Syndicate/Canara/ICICI/HDFC Bank). Application fee can be paid till 18th January 2017.

JEE Main Application Form Correction:

  • Candidates now have a chance to make correction in the aadhaar details.
  • Changes from CBT to PBT has not been entertained during the correction.
  • Correction period (in images) was announced from 10th December, 2016.
  • Correction in particulars of application form was started from 25th January to 3rd February 2017.
  • Any further corrections in application form after closing the correction period will not be entertained.
  • Only selected and permitted entries may be modified.

JEE Main 2017 Exam Pattern

The JEE Main 2017 exam pattern for paper I and Paper II is given below:

JEE Main Paper I:

  • Courses: It is held for engineering courses (B.Tech/BE).
  • Number of Questions: It is consisted of 90 MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions).
  • Subjects: The paper will be asked from subjects as Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  • Language: Hindi, English (candidates can select while filling the application form)
  • Mode: It will be commenced via both; online & offline.
  • Exam Timings: 9:30 to 12:30 (paper-1) and 2:00 to 5:00 (paper-2)
  • Duration: 3 hours.  (4 hours for the candidates having 40% or more disability)
  • Marking Scheme: 4 marks for each correct response.
  • Negative Marking: 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect response or multi-responses.

JEE Main Paper II:

  • Courses: It is held for Architecture course. (B.Arch).
  • Number of Questions: It is consisted of 82 questions (MCQs) out of which 30 questions from mathematics, 50 questions from aptitude test and 2 questions (descriptive) of drawing test.
  • Subjects: The paper will be asked from subjects as Mathematics, Aptitude, Drawing.
  • Language: Hindi, English (candidates can select while filling the application form)
  • Mode: It will be commenced via offline mode.
  • Duration: 3 hours. (4 hours for the candidates having 40% or more disability)
  • Marking Scheme: 4 marks for each correct response (2 questions of drawing will carry 70 marks).
  • Negative Marking: 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect or multi-responses.

Candidates may check the JEE Main preparation tips for scoring well in the exam. Every year a large number of candidates appear to this exam. First of all, candidates should prepare for this exam as per officially prescribed syllabus. Candidates should gather the best study materials for preparation. JEE Main 2017 Syllabus

Before preparing for exam, candidates are advised to gather complete information regarding JEE Main Syllabus 2017. JEE Main 2017 syllabus will be composed of paper 1 and paper 2 syllabus. JEE main paper 1 will be asked for the B.Tech (Engineering) while paper 2 will be asked for architecture (B.Arch).

JEE Main Paper 1 Syllabus:

The JEE Main paper 1 will be composed of all theory topics of three subjects which are physics, chemistry and mathematics.

JEE Main Paper 2 Syllabus:

The JEE Main paper 2 has been divided into three parts i.e. mathematics, aptitude test and drawing test.

FAQ’s (Most Asked Questions)

Answer: You can attempt only three times.
Answer: No, candidates appearing/passed 12th or qualifying exam will be eligible to appear in JEE Main 2017. But for admission in to IIT’s, IIIT’s, NIT’s, CFTI’s candidates must score atleast 75% (65% in case of SC/ST candidates) in their class 12th board exams as the mandatory eligibility.

Display of Answer Key

After the JEE Main exam, the JEE Main 2017 answer key and images of response sheets (OMR sheets) will be displayed between 18th – 20th April 2017. Candidates can download the answer key through the official website of JEE Main. If candidate is not satisfied with the answer key then the candidate can make a written challenge.

JEE Main 2017 Result

The result for JEE Main (Paper 1) will be declared on the 27th April, 2017 and All India Rank for JEE Main (Paper 2) will be released on 27th May 2017. Candidates can check the JEE Main Result 2017 through the official site. Students are required to enter their roll number and date of birth and click on the submit button to generate your score card. After the result announcement, merit list will be prepared only on the basis of JEE Main Score. From the year 2017 board marks will not be taken in to account for preparing JEE main merit, but candidates who wish to take admission in to IIT’s, IIIT’s, NIT’s, CFTI’s must score atleast 75% in their class 12th board exams as the mandatory eligibility.

JEE Main 2018 is a national level examination conducted for admission into B.Tech & B.Arch Course all over the country. This exam is managed by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. The Application form will be available from the 1st week of December 2017.

JEE Main 2017 Counselling

Candidates will be called for counselling procedure as per to their rank obtained in the merit list. The JEE Main 2017 Counselling will be started from the first week of July, 2017 (Tentatively). Counselling will be handled by JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority). The JoSAA counselling 2017 has been divided into various rounds. After each round allotment result will be announced separately.

      My dear brother, there r three chances for jee main and 2 for advanced .the chances for advance are 1 the year of passing 12th and 2 just the next year.if u missed them,u cant appear in jee advanced after that.for example if u passed 12th in 2015 u can appear in advance in 2015 and 2016 only.even if u don’t apper u ll lose ur chance.however u can appear in jee mains 3 times…thanks
