JEE Main 2026 Result

JEE Main 2026 January Session Result has been released by NTA on 16th February 2026 for Paper 1 and for paper 2 on 24th February 2026. Candidates can check their JEE Main 2026 Result only through online mode.

For April session, JEE Main 2026 result will be available to check by 20th April 2026. The results are declared in the form of percentile (NTA Scores). Candidate’s NTA score/ marks are released after the declaration of result for 1st/ 2nd session. After the declaration of both sessions results, JEE Main rank & cut off are announced.

Candidate’s rank can be calculated by comparing both attempts. NTA does not provide the result through any offline method. The NTA Score of JEE Main comprises the actual marks obtained in Paper I of all subjects. The results are provided in the form of a percentile.

The score & rank obtained by the candidate is used for counselling & eligibility for JEE Advanced examination. Rank comprises of All India Rank and All India Category Rank. The authority does not dispatch the rank card to any candidates. Candidates have to download it from the website.

JEE Main 2026 Cut Off is released through online mode. NTA will release the cut-off through the website.

JEE Main 2026 Counselling will be begin from first week of June 2026. The counselling process will be organised in online mode. It will be managed by JoSAA.

JEE Main 2026 Normalisation Score

The Normalisation process is an established practice for comparing candidate scores across multi-session papers and is similar to those being adopted in other large educational selection tests conducted in India.

For normalization across sections, NTA is using the percentile equivalence. The percentile is calculated as:

JEE Main Result Release Date 2026

JEE Main 2026 examination for 1st Session is on 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28 & 29 January 2026. For 2nd Session, it has been conducted between 2nd to 8th April 2026. The exam are conducted through online mode only.

After the examination, JEE Main Result 2026 is declared on the website a week after exam. For 1st session exam, it has been announced on 16th February 2026. It has been announced for Paper 1 on 20th April 2026 for session II.

Rank scored by the candidates is declared after the announcement of results of all sessions. A normalisation process is adopted to calculate the percentile.

JEE Main 2026 Counselling will begin in June 2026. Students will be able to participate in the counselling process according to the JEE Main ranks. For counselling best of the two attempts of Session 1 & Session 2 are considered.

The cut off is released after the declaration of results for both sessions. JEE Main cut-off depends upon various factors like students who appeared in the exam, difficulty level, etc. Cut-off will be released category wise. Below, we have mentioned the expected cut-off for the JEE Main exam:

How to Check JEE Main Result 2026

Here we have listed some simple steps to check JEE Main result:

  • Click on the website link (Direct link is provided above)
  • A new page will be opened on the screen.
  • Enter the mandatory details such as Application Number, Date of Birth & Security Code.
  • After filling in the details, click on the “Login” button.
  • The result is displayed on the screen.
  • Check the result and take a printout of it.

JEE Main Score Card Details

Following details are printed on the JEE Main Result/ Score Card:

  • Name of the Candidate
  • Roll Number
  • Date of Birth
  • Father’s & Mother’s Name

  • Marks Secured in each subject, i.e., Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics
  • Total marks obtained by the candidate

JEE Main Rank List 2026

JEE Main Rank will be declared after the announcement of result. The ranks will be prepared as per the percentile obtained in both attempts of JEE Main. AIR rank is considered for admission through CSAB or JoSAA & other admission authorities to NITs/ IIITs/ CFTIs/ SFIs/ Others.

If candidates appear for both exams, the highest percentile will be considered for ranking. Tie breaking rules will be applied in case candidates score equal percentiles in the JEE Main exam. The tie-breaking criteria will be mentioned below:

Tie breaking rules for preparing merit list is listed below:

  • Higher percentile in Mathematics subject is considered for a better rank.
  • Higher percentile in Physics subject is given a better rank.
  • Higher percentile score in Chemistry subject is allotted a better rank.
  • Candidates older in age will be preferred.

Compilation & Display of Result for Multi Session Papers

The JEE Main examination is conducted in two attempts. Procedure for compilation & display of results is mentioned below:

Compilation of Result (1st Attempt):

The first attempt will be conducted in multi-sessions, NTA scores are calculated corresponding to the raw marks obtained by a candidate in each session. The calculated NTA scores for all the sessions will be merged for the announcement of results. The result comprises the four NTA scores for each of the three subjects (Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry) and the total for the first attempt.

Compilation of Result (2nd Attempt):

The second attempt is also conducted in multi-sessions, NTA scores are calculated corresponding to the raw marks obtained by a candidate in each session. The NTA scores for all the sessions will be merged for declaration of results. The result will contain the four NTA scores for each of the three subjects (Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry) and the total for the second attempt.

Compilation of Result & Preparation of Merit List / Ranking:

The four NTA scores for each of the candidates for the first and second attempts will be merged for compilation of results and preparation of overall Merit List / Ranking. Those appeared in both attempts; their best of the two NTA scores will be considered.

JEE Main Counselling 2026

On the basis of marks scored in the exam, students are able to participate in the counselling process. Counselling is organised as per the rank secured by candidates. JEE Main counselling is organised by the JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) & CSAB (Central Seat Allocation Board).
