JEE Main Exam Update: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has not made any changes to the JEE Main application process, rules, or regulations in recent years. The process remains the same.
However, every year, many aspirants face confusion regarding the registration process, especially about whether they need to apply separately for Session 1 and Session 2 or if a single application is enough for both attempts, and so on.
So, to clear all the confusion for the JEE Main 2026 aspirants, below in this article, we have provided you with the JEE registration highlights and details that you must know before applying.
JEE Main Registration Doubts & Frequently Asked Questions
NTA is the authority that conducts and will release the JEE Main 2026 registration form. As the JEE Main exam is held in two sessions: January and April, registration for both sessions will be organized separately.
- Modes for Session 1 & 2: The mode to apply for JEE Main is online only. There is no other way to submit JEE forms. For the JEE Main 2026 session 1 application, the form is expected to be released in October/ November 2025, and for the JEE Main 2026 session 2 application, forms are expected in February 2026.
- Preference of Session: Any aspirant can apply for both sessions of JEE Main. Candidates also have the option to appear in only one session if they prefer. Those who skip Session 1 can still apply and appear for Session 2.
- Registration Process: To register for any of the sessions, candidates are required to meet the JEE Main eligibility criteria. Once the application form is released, candidates are required to provide their basic details and generate their application number and password.
- Applying for Session 2: If a candidate has already applied for JEE Main Session 1 and wishes to appear for Session 2, they must log in using the same application number and password created during Session 1 registration. However, candidates who did not register for Session 1 and now wish to take Session 2 will need to complete a fresh registration.
- JEE Application Fees: For both sessions, candidates are required to pay the application or exam fee separately. Even if a candidate has cleared JEE Main Session 1 and wishes to apply for Session 2, they will still need to pay the fee for Session 2.
Big Update Out on JEE Main 2026 Registration, Keep Aadhaar & Certificates Ready
The JEE Main information bulletin reads that “Multiple Application Forms submitted by a candidate will not be accepted and will lead to the cancellation of his/her result. The Confirmation Page of the online Application Form for each session will be generated only after the successful payment of the fee by the Candidate.
In case the Confirmation Page is not generated after payment of the fee, then the candidate may have to approach the concerned Bank/Payment Gateway (in the helpline numbers and email given in Appendix I) to ensure the successful payment or to obtain the refund of duplicate /multiple payments. Under no circumstances will candidates be allowed to fill more than one Application Form.
Strict action will be taken, even at a later stage, against such candidates who have filled more than one Application Form and will be treated as UFM.
