JEE Main is a national level examination that is organised by NTA twice a year. Before preparing for exams, students should gather all the details regarding syllabus for better preparation. JEE Main exam is organised by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for Engineering, Architecture & Planning admissions in IITs, IIITs, and NITs.
JEE Main 2027 exam will be held from 22nd to 30th January 2027 for Session 1. Whereas, for Session 2, it will be held between first week of April 2027. Through this article, candidates can know JEE Main 2027 Syllabus in PDF format for various subjects.

JEE Main 2027 Syllabus PDF
To cater to the decision of different boards regarding reduction in syllabus, NTA may decide to provide a choice in one section of each subject of Paper 1 and Part I of Paper 2A and 2B (As per last year). However, a total number of questions to be attempted may remain same wherever applicable.

Before appearing for this exam, candidates must have a complete information about the JEE Main syllabus. The JEE Main 2027 syllabus for B.Tech/ B.E paper consists of a total of three subjects that are Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The JEE Main syllabus for different subjects will be as mentioned below:
Changes In JEE Main Syllabus (Previous Year)
NTA had removed a number of topics from the JEE Main syllabus in 2024. The reduced syllabus is similar to 11th and 12th classes of the NCERT/ CBSE. The following are the topics removed from each subject:
- Physics– Communication Device unit is removed from the syllabus.
- Chemistry- Removed topics are Surface Chemistry, General Principles and Processes of Isolation of Metals, S-block elements, States of Matter, Hydrogen, Alcohol Phenol, Environmental Chemistry, Ether, and Polymers chapters are removed.
- Mathematics– Mathematical Induction and Mathematical Reasoning units are removed.

JEE Main Subject Wise Syllabus (B.E/ B.Tech Paper)

Aptitude Test Syllabus:
Part 1:
Awareness of persons, Textures, and objects related to Architecture and building environment, buildings and materials, Visualising 3D objects from 2D drawings, Mental Ability (Visual, Numerical, and Verbal), Visualising different sides of 3D objects, Analytical Reasoning.
Part 2:
Three dimensional – perception: Understanding and appreciation of scale and proportion of objects, color texture harmony, and contrast. Drawing and designing of geometrical or abstract shapes and patterns in pencil, building forms and elements, Transformation of forms in both 2D and 3D union, subtraction, rotation, development of surfaces & volumes, Generation of Plans, Creating 2D and 3D compositions using given shapes and forms, Elevations and 3 D views of objects.
Part – 3 (Planning):
Sketching of scenes & activities from memory of urban scapes (public space, festivals, markets, street scenes, recreational spaces, monuments, etc.), landscapes (gardens, trees, river fronts, jungles, plants, etc.), and rural life.
AAT Syllabus:
Freehand Drawing: Simple drawing showing the entire object in its right proportion and form, surface texture, and details of its components in suitable scale, relative location, Ordinary domestic or everyday life utilisable objects like equipment, furniture, etc.
Geometrical Drawing: Activities in geometrical drawing containing lines, triangles, angles, quadrilaterals, circles, polygons, elevation (side or front views) of simple solid objects like cones, prisms, splayed surface holders, cylinders, cubes, Study of plan (aerial view), etc.
Three-dimensional Perception: Perception and appreciation of 3D forms with building elements, Visualisation through constituting objects in memory, volume colour, and orientation.
Imagination and Aesthetic Sensitivity: Composition activity with given elements, Creativity test through uncommon innovative check with recognisable objects, Context mapping, Logic of colour grouping.
Architectural Awareness: General awareness and interest in famous architectural creations – within the country and outside, places and celebrities (architects, designers, etc.).
JEE Main 2027 Exam Pattern
JEE Main 2027 Pattern comprises questions from Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry subjects. In JEE Main B.Tech paper questions are asked about Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics.
In B.Arch/ B.Plan paper comprises three parts – Aptitude test, drawing test, and mathematics in B.Arch and Aptitude test, Mathematics, and Planning Based Questions in B.Plan.
Paper of B.Tech/ B.E consists of a total of 75 questions out of which 75 questions must be attempted by the candidates.
For B.Arch paper, it comprises 25 questions from mathematics, 50 questions for aptitude test, and 2 questions for drawing test, and for B.Planning, it consists of 50 questions from aptitude test, 25 from mathematics, and 25 planning based questions.
