Jharkhand has 16 engineering colleges including a government-owned college, 3 government- private partnership colleges, 1 joint venture College and 11 engineering colleges in the private sector. State Exam

The admissions in various engineering colleges of Jharkhand is done through the JEE Main exam and JCECE 2016 exam. The application form for JEE Mains 2016 has been closed now.

B.Tech Admission 2016

Candidate interested in pursuing B.Tech from one the seventeen colleges available in Jharkhand state, must sit in JEE Main 2016 examination. The JEE Main 2016 merit rank will be the admission criterion in these engineering colleges. Candidate who has passed intermediate or any equivalent exam from any recognized board and secured a minimum of 50% marks in total is eligible for JEE Main exam. The admission criteria for B.Tech are as following:

• For admission in first year of B.Tech candidates have to meet the JEE Main 2016 eligibility criteria.
• Before admission candidate have to go through counseling process.
• For Jharkhand B.Tech 2016 counseling, candidates must have passed 10+2 from the Jharkhand Board or any equivalent exam from a recognized board.
• Candidate must have studied Physics and Maths as necessary subjects with any one of the five optional subjects as the elective subjects in intermediate.
• Candidate must be permanent residents of Jharkhand and must meet the Jharkhand domicile requirements.

Documents Required

From entrance exam to admission, the candidates must keep required documents with them. Following list will help you a lot to carry necessary documents:

• 10+2 mark sheet and certificate
• Category Certificate(for SC/ST/OBC candidates)
• Domicile Certificate as a proof of permanent residency of Jharkhand
• JEE main 2016 admit card carried while JEE Main exam
• Score card as a proof of rank scored in JEE main 2016
• Printed college allotment letter, taken after B.Tech college counseling

Selection Process

For admissions in various engineering colleges of Jharkhand in B.Tech courses, the candidates have to go through counseling process. For counseling process candidates will have to complete their document verification at the designated centre. After that they will have to register themselves in counseling website and fill their college choices. The allotment of colleges will be done on the basis of the JEE Main 2016 Rank. After allotment through, candidate will have to report to the allotted college. They must visit college campus for further admission processes on the given dates.
