It will be organized for providing admission into the Engineering (B.Tech) & other professional courses in the state of Karnataka. The KEA (Karnataka Examination Authority) will organize this exam under the Karnataka University. KCET 2023 Syllabus

The KCET 2023 Syllabus is set based on the latest syllabus of First and Second year of PUC as issued by the Department of Pre-University Education of Karnataka State. Go through the complete KCET syllabus properly to skip the chances of missing out on any topic.

The syllabus consist of topics from various subjects such as Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics/ Biology. The detailed Karnataka CET 2023 syllabus is mentioned below.

Physics Syllabus

Physical World and Measurement, Kinematics, Laws of Motion, Work, Energy & Power, Motion of System of Particles & Rigid Body, Properties of Bulk Matter, Gravitation, Thermodynamics, Behaviour of Perfect Gas & Kinetic Theory and Oscillations & Waves.

Electrostatics, Current Electricity, Magnetic Effects of Current & Magnetism, Electromagnetic induction & Alternating Currents, Optics, Dual Nature of Matter & Radiation, Electromagnetic waves, Atoms & Nuclei, Electronic Devices and Communication systems.

Chemistry Syllabus

Some Basic Concepts of Chemistry, Structure of Atom, Chemical Bonding & Molecular Structure, States of Matter: Gases & Liquids, Chemical Thermodynamics, Classification of Elements & Periodicity in Properties, Equilibrium, Redox Reactions, Hydrogen, S-Block Elements, Hydrocarbons, Some p-Block Elements, Organic Chemistry and Environmental Chemistry.

Solid State, Solutions, Electro chemistry, Chemical Kinetics, General Principles & Processes of Isolation of Elements, d and f Block Elements, Surface Chemistry, Co-ordination compounds, Biomolecules, Aldehydes & Ketones & Carboxylic Acids, Alcohols, Phenols & Ethers, Halo alkanes & Haloarenes, Organic compounds containing Nitrogen, Polymers and Chemistry in Everyday life.

Mathematics Syllabus

Algebra, Trigonometry, Two-dimensional Coordinate Geometry, Probability, Vectors, Statistics, Differential calculus, Integral calculus, Three dimensional Coordinate Geometry, Ordinary Differential Equations and Linear Programming.

Biology Syllabus

The biology syllabus will be divided into two sections, i.e. Botany and Zoology. Some major Botany topics are Cell Biology & Genetics, Histology & Plant Anatomy, Diversity of Plant Life on Earth, and Introduction to Ecology & Taxonomy.

The Zoology section contain topics like Tissues of humans, Digestion, Circulation, Respiration, Nervous System, Origin Of Life, Human Reproduction, Organic Evolution, Animal Resources & Human Welfare Dairy, Study of the Cell, Developmental Biology, Diversity of Animal Life and Cell Division.

KCET Exam Pattern

The KCET 2023 exam pattern consist of details such as mode of exam, duration of exam, marking scheme, type of questions and other details. The examination will be organized through offline mode (pen and paper based mode). In the examination, total 180 objective type questions will be asked. Candidates will have to appear only for one examination from Biology/Mathematics. Physics & Chemistry questions will be compulsory for all students. For correct answer, one mark will be allotted to the candidates.

The exam will be conducted in English or Kannada languages. Candidates will be given 320 minutes and 80 minutes for each subject to solve. Each subject in the KCET 2023 exam will consist of 60 marks and 50 marks for Kannada.
