Admission Procedure

Admission to law courses in Bihar state will be made through entrance test. Various Universities/institutions of Bihar conducts their separate entrance test for providing admission. Chanakya National Law University is one of the best Universities of Bihar which offers admission on the basis of CLAT. There is also a provision of direct admission in some law colleges/Universities of Bihar.

Entrance Exam

Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is the national level entrance test conducted by NLUs. It is conducted in the month of May. Many Universities of Bihar accepts the score card of CLAT for granting admission to its law courses. Some colleges conduct their own common entrance test on the basis of which they offer admission. Beside this, there are many institutions offer Law admissions on merit base.

Law Admission 2017

Candidates applying through CLAT are informed that the application form of CLAT has been released from 1st January 2017. The last date for the submission of application form will be 31st March 2017. Aspirants can check their eligibility for law admission in Bihar 2017 even through CLAT entrance:

  • Aspirants seeking admission in LL.B. course are required to pass the graduation with minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST).
  • Prescribed educational qualification for LL.M is LL.B passed from a recognized University with 55% marks (50% for reserved category candidates).
  • After the completion of 10+2, candidates will be eligible to pursue integrated law course.
  • There is no prescribed upper age limit for law courses.

Selection Procedure

Candidates who have qualified the entrance test are required to appear the counselling process for the allotment of seats. Seat allotment will be done on the basis of candidate’s performance in entrance test and seat availability. Universities/colleges that provides direct admission will release admission form that candidates have to fill for taking admission. Marks of the qualifying examination will be considered for direct admission.
