Admission Procedure

Admission to the law courses is done through national level exam or University level exam or through merit basis (direct admission). The colleges that provides direct admission will consider the candidate’s performance in qualifying examination for drawing merit list.

Entrance Exam

No state level entrance examination is conducted for law admission in Gujarat. Admission procedure varies from college to college. Some Universities regulates its own entrance test for offering admission. Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is the reputed entrance test conducted by NLUs rotationally. It is conducted for admission to UG and PG law courses in National Law Universities.

Law Admission 2017

Admission to the NLU’s is done on the basis of CLAT. Aspirants can fill the application form of CLAT 2017 from 1st January 2017. The last date to submit the application will be 31st March 2017. The examination will be held on 14th May 2017.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates seeking admission in integrated law course are required to pass 10+2 or intermediate examination with 45% marks (40% for SC/ST).
  • For admission to LL.B programme, students must have passed graduation in any discipline.
  • Candidates holding LL.B degree are eligible to apply for LL.M. course.
  • There is no upper age limit for appearing CLAT.

Selection Procedure

Interested and eligible students can apply for entrance test. Counselling will be conducted only for qualified candidates. Choice entry will be done at the time of counselling. Students will get seat on the basis of their performance in entrance test. The colleges/Universities that provides direct admission will issue the admission form and candidates are required to fill the admission form of respective college. Admission will be done on merit basis drawn as per the candidate’s performance in qualifying examination.
