Admission Procedure

Candidates looking for admission in the law colleges of Uttar Pradesh are required to appear the entrance examination. Some colleges accept scores of Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) for providing admission. Few Universities also conduct their own entrance test for granting admission to its affiliated colleges. There are various colleges in Uttar Pradesh that offers direct admission on the basis of candidate’s performance in qualifying examination.

Entrance Exam

Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is the national level examination conducted by 17 NLUs on rotation basis. Many colleges of Uttar Pradesh offers admission to its law courses through CLAT. Usually, the entrance examination of CLAT is conducted in the month of May.

Law Admission 2017

Admission process of the law colleges of Uttar Pradesh varies from college to college. Some college offer admission through entrance test (CLAT) and some of them provides direct admission on the basis of qualifying examination. The application form of Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is available from 1st January 2017. Candidates can check here the eligibility for Law Admission in Uttar Pradesh 2017:

  • For LLB – Passed graduation (in any stream) with 45% marks (40% in case of SC/ST category).
  • For LL.M – Passed LL.B with minimum 55% marks (50% marks in case of SC/ST category candidates).
  • For integrated Law programme – 10+2 passed from any recognized board.
  • No prescribed upper age limit for CLAT.
  • To take admission, aspirants are required to pass the entrance examination.

Selection Procedure

Selection will be done on the basis of candidate’s performance in entrance examination. The seat allotment in the colleges will be done through counseling conducted in online mode. For counseling process, candidates will have to complete their document verification round. They will have to register themselves in  official website of CLAT and fill their college choices and lock them by the given dates. After seat allotment, report to the assigned college to verify your seat.
