Admission Procedure

Admission in law courses are offered through two modes, i.e. national level/ university level entrance examination or through the merit basis of the qualifying exam. There won’t be any state level examination conducted for admission in various law programmes.

Entrance Exam

Various reputed universities of Uttarakhand conduct their own entrance test to provide admission in law courses. Some colleges also consider CLAT score card for admission. Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a national level law entrance test organized for providing admissions in UG and PG law programmes.

This state houses various reputed colleges which offer admission in law courses. Law Admission 2017

The CLAT 2017 application form has been released from 1st January 2017 and will be available till 31st March 2017. The CLAT exam will be organized through online process on 14th May 2017.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • There is not any upper age limit is prescribed for CLAT examination.
  • For integrated UG courses, candidates must have cleared 10+2 or equivalent exam with obtaining at least 45% marks for general candidates and 40% marks for reserved categories.
  • For postgraduate courses, students should have completed LL.B or any other equivalent degree from any recognized university or college.
  • Students appearing in the qualifying exam are also eligible to apply.

Selection Procedure

Students will be admitted in law courses through entrance exam or via merit basis. Candidates will be called for counselling process according to their rank. Counselling process will be conducted through online or offline process as per the decision of the respective counselling authority. In counselling process, students will choose the colleges and courses as per their choices. The authority will allot the seats on the basis of rank, seats availability and filled choices. After the seat allotment, students are needed to report to the allotted centre for further admission process.

  • 10th class mark sheet & passing certificate.
  • 12th class mark sheet & passing certificate.
  • Admit card and rank card of entrance exam (if any).
  • Passport size photographs.
  • Domicile certificate.
  • Category certificate (if applicable).
