Admission Procedure

Admissions into law courses will be given through national or university level entrance examinations or through the merit basis. Various law universities and colleges of this state conduct their own entrance exam for admission and some colleges also offer direct admission to students on the basis of merit list.

Entrance Exam

Candidates can apply for admission in UG & PG law courses through CLAT examination. CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) is a national level examination conducted by various NLUs rotationally. Through this exam students will get admission in various UG, PG and integrated UG law programmes.

Law Admission 2017

The application form of CLAT 2017 examination has been provided from 1st January 2017. The last date to submit the application form is 31st March 2017. This examination is organized on 14th May 2017.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • For integrated UG courses (BA. LL.B, BBA. LL.B, etc.), students must have passed 12th or equivalent exam with securing 45% marks for general and 40% marks for reserved categories.
  • There is not any upper age limit is prescribed for appearing in CLAT.
  • For admission in PG courses, students must hold an LL.B or equivalent degree from any recognized university.
  • Appearing candidates are also eligible to apply.

Selection Procedure

For admissions, candidates are required to appear in the entrance examination or they can also apply for admission on the merit basis. In counselling procedure, students are required to choose the courses and colleges as per their choice and rank. Seats will be allotted to students on the basis of choices filled by candidates and availability of seats. After seat allotment, students are needed to report to the allotted college to complete admission procedure.

    Recently supreme court have passed an order regarding age limit for appearing llb entrance exam. Will that law be enforced from this year itself? Will be grateful if u reply back.
