GATE 2025 Registration process will begin from 4th week of August 2025 tentatively. It is being organised by IIT Roorkee for 2025 session. The notification for the same will be released in the month of August 2025.
GATE (Graduate Aptitude test in Engineering) is a national level entrance examination organised every year by top 7 IITs and IISc Bangalore. This aptitude test is a prestigious exam which assess the candidates for comprehensive understanding in UG courses for various specialisations (Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Humanities & Sciences).
After qualifying this exam, candidates get numerous opportunities like – Admission in PG courses in top institutions without MoE Scholarship, admission with possible financial assistance to Masters’ and direct doctoral programs & recruitment opportunities in various PSUs (Public Sector Undertakings). GATE 2025 Registration
To know all about GATE 2025 Registration, candidates can check the below provided section:
- GATE Application 2025 will release in the fourth week of August 2025.
- Before registering, candidates must make sure their eligibility which has been provided below.
- Students must be ready with all the required documents to avoid any confusion later. List of documents necessary for registration are provided below.
- Two Paper combination will be allowed as per which candidates will have the option to appear for 1 or 2 test papers.
- Complete registration process will be through online mode. No offline mode will be entertained for submission of form.
- Application process involves various steps – Online Registration, filling asked details (personal/ qualification, etc.), Uploading of documents and submission of application fee.
- Complete details should be filled carefully as the authority may or may not allow correction in few details.
- Candidates can also check their status of application by logging into the website with their User ID and password.
- Last date to register will be till October 2025. However, if last date is missed by candidates, they can also submit the application with late fee within the provided time frame.
Registration Fee:
- GATE 2025 Application fee can be paid by applicants through online mode It will vary for regular and extended period.
- Through online mode, fee can be paid using debit card, credit card, net banking method, UPI, wallet, etc.
- The below provided fee is for single test paper. For those applying for two papers have to pay twice the below mentioned fees.

Documents Required for GATE 2025 Registration
For GATE 2025 Registration, students should make sure that they have the required data and documents with them as mentioned below:
Required Data:
- Personal Information – Name, DOB, Mobile number, etc.
- Communication details like address
- Qualifying degree details
- GATE papers & codes in which they wish to appear
- 3 choices of exam cities
- Fee payment modes / details
Required Documents:
- Candidates’ Photograph (in HD as per specifications)
- Candidates’ Signature (in HD as per specifications)
- Category certificate (Scanned copy in PDF form) if applicable
- Dyslexia certificate (Scanned copy in PDF form) if applicable
- Scanned Valid Photo Id (Aadhar/ passport/ PAN/ Voter Id/ Driving License)
*Candidates must make sure that all the documents uploaded are readable and clear otherwise it may lead to rejection or delays.
GATE 2025 Application Correction
The authority will open the GATE 2025 Application Correction window after the completion of registration process. Registered candidates will be able to modify or edit details in the application in the third week of November 2025.
Students will be charged fee for making correction in the details provided in application form. It will be allowed only in few details as mentioned in the table below:

GATE 2025 Eligibility Criteria
It is important for candidates to make sure they fulfil the GATE Eligibility Criteria to avoid any rejection of form or candidature later:
- Those studying in 3rd or higher years of any UG degree (currently) or completed any degree (Govt. approved) in Engineering/ Technology, Architecture, Humanities & Sciences are eligible to apply.
- No age limit is prescribed to apply.
- For the ones pursuing or completed their qualifying degree from outside India should be currently in 3rdor higher years of any UG degree OR completed bachelor’s degree (at least 3-year duration) in Engineering/ Technology, Architecture, Humanities & Sciences.
- Candidates possessing certification from any professional societies must ensure that those examinations are approved by AICTE/ MoE/ UPSC/ UGC as being equivalent to B.Tech/ B.E/ B.Arch/ B.Planning, etc.

How to Apply for GATE 2025
To be aware of complete GATE application procedure, candidates can go through below provided section:
- Visit the online website (Link will be mentioned above).
- Click on the option provided as – ‘Online Registration/ Apply Online’ under the GATE online application processing system (GOAPS).
- Go through the instructions and be ready with the details and documents as specified for registration purpose.
- Now register by filling the name, email, mobile and choosing password.
- Unique Enrolment Id and password (Login details) will be generated and sent to registered candidates through SMS/ mail.
- Now login again with the provided details and start filling the application form further.
- Fill your personal, qualification and other asked details. Students must ensure to fill all the mandatory details without which application will not be submitted.
- Now upload your scanned photograph, signature, photo id proof, category certificate, etc. in specified format and size.
- Pay application fee as mentioned for various categories and provided payment methods.
- Now finally submit your application form after going through all the submitted details.
- Save, download, and print the application form for any references in future.
GATE 2025 Application Status/ Scrutiny
Students will be able to check the status of their GATE Application form 2025 anytime. To check the application status, candidates are required to simply login into the account. The status of application will be only updated after the scrutiny by the respective zonal offices.
The application forms will be scrutinised for accuracy of details and documents submitted by the candidates. The applications will be accepted if found in order otherwise will get rejected. Students will be intimated through SMS/ email about the defects in application which can be corrected by them as per provided time frame.
