Admission Procedure

Haryana will not conduct any entrance examination for providing admission to its MBBS/BDS seats.  In order to take admission, aspirants have to appear for the national level test namely NEET that offer admission to undergraduate medical and dental seats. After the conduct of examination, result will be announced and candidates whose names are mentioned in the merit list are required to appear in the counselling and admission process for allotment of seats.

Entrance Exam

Admission in the medical colleges of Haryana will be done on the basis of National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET). Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducts NEET-UG for providing admission to the MBBS/BDS programme. Aspirants have to score well in NEET-UG for admission in the top medical/dental colleges of Haryana. The entrance examination of NEET was conducted on 7th May 2017.

MBBS Admission 2017

Candidates who wish to take admission in the government and private medical colleges of Haryana are required to appear the NEET-UG 2017. Aspirants can apply for NEET exam through online process only. NEET 2017 application form for UG courses was available from 31st January 2017 and the last date for submitting the application form is 1st March 2017. The eligibility criteria for MBBS Admission in Haryana 2017 is as follows:

  • Applicant must be an Indian citizen or OCI.
  • Candidates must have completed 17 years as on or before 31st December of the academic year of admission.
  • Maximum age limit for general candidates is 25 years and 30 years for SC/ST candidates.
  • In order to apply for MBBS programme, students are required to pass the higher secondary examination from a recognized board with minimum aggregate of 50% marks taken together in PCB (40% for SC/ST/OBC and 45% for Physically handicapped candidates).
  • It is also mandatory for the students to pass Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Bio-technology and English individually at qualifying examination.
  • Candidates must have passed the NEET-UG 2016 with the prescribed marks.

Selection Procedure

CBSE will prepare the NEET 2017 merit list for the qualified candidates. After the publication of merit list, students are called for the counselling process. The counselling will be conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in online mode. During the counselling procedure, candidates have to select the choices for the colleges. Seats are allotted to the candidates on the basis of rank scored and the choices of their preference. The candidates are required to report to the assigned institute with seat allotment letter for taking admission in MBBS. The admission is only confirmed after the successful payment of the admission fee. As per MCI, there are 450 MBBS seats and 60 BDS seats in 4 government Medical colleges and 1 Dental college of Haryana.
