Admission Procedure

Admissions in MBBS and BDS courses will be given on the basis of national level examination NEET, AIIMS & JIPMER. Central Board of Secondary Education shall organize the NEET examination for selecting students for medical courses. Top medical colleges of India consider the NEET score card for admissions.

Entrance Exam

NEET (National Eligibility Entrance Test) is an all India level based examination organized by the CBSE Board. Through this examination, students will get admissions into MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) and BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) programmes. This examination is conducted in various famous cities of the country.

MBBS Admission 2017

Students looking for admission in MBBS programmes, can apply for the NEET examination from 31st January 2017. The application form was available till the 1st March 2017. The examination was organized on 7th May 2017.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Indian Nationals & OCI candidates can apply for this exam.
  • Candidates must have cleared the 12th or equivalent exam with PCB and English subjects from any recognized board.
  • Students must have completed the age of 17 years as or on 31st December of the year of admission.
  • The maximum age limit is 25 Years for general and 30 years for SC/ST candidates.
  • Students appearing in the qualifying exam are also eligible to apply.

Selection Procedure

After clearing the NEET examination, a merit list will be prepared by the authority as per the marks scored in the entrance test. Students will be invited for counselling process as per the ranks secured in the rank list. In the counselling process, candidates are required to choose the list of colleges where they are seeking for admissions.

Seats will be allotted to students on the basis of choices filled by them, rank scored and the availability of seats in the colleges. Students will be required to report to the allotted college to complete the admission process. In India, there are approx 53565 seats are available for admissions in MBBS programme.

Documents Required

Candidates will be required these documents at the time of counselling/admission:

  • 10th Class Mark Sheet & Passing Certificate.
  • 12th Class Mark Sheet & Passing Certificate.
  • NEET 2017 Admit Card & Rank Card.
  • Category Certificate (if applicable).
  • Counselling Letter.
  • Passport size photographs.

    1. The disability certificate should be produced by a duly constituted and authorised Medical Board.The candidates should have minimum eligibility criteria as per MCI guidelines. The candidates should be otherwise fit medically.
      The locomotory disabled involving the lower limb is permissible but it should be with the following guidelines:-

      If it involves only one lower limb it should have a minimum of 40% and should not exceed 60%.
      If it involves both the lower limbs the total disability should not exceed 60% with a minimum of 40%.

  4. Please confirm whether two rank will be prepared in NEET 2017 such as (I) State rank or (II) All India Rank

  5. In 2017, NEET, what percentage of seat will be allotted for each state as domicile candidate. Whether there will be two merit list (I) for All India Rank (II) State Rank. Till date we are really confuse.

    1. More than 50% seats will be reserved for state domiciled. Actual % is given in information Bulletin.

    2. Please inform how a person will get seat in MBBS and how a rank will decide eligibility from state or national level
