The Jammu & Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examination (JKBOPEE) is responsible for M.B.B.S/ B.D.S admissions in the state of Jammu & Kashmir. Admission Procedure
The candidates is selected for admission in MBBS and BDS courses based on the ranks secured in NEET examinations. The candidates have to appear and then get qualified in the NEET exams. On the basis of NEET 2025 score, they get admission to the medical and dental colleges of Jammu & Kashmir.
Entrance Exams
The NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance test) is the only entrance examination through which a candidate can take admission in the Medical and Dental colleges of Jammu and Kashmir. The state of Jammu & Kashmir does not conduct any separate entrance examinations to determine admissions in the MBBS & BDS courses.

Jammu & Kashmir MBBS/ BDS Admission 2025
Here we have mentioned complete eligibility criteria to apply for MBBS/ BDS admission in Jammu & Kashmir:
Eligibility:
- Candidates appearing under Open Merit category must have passed Higher secondary, Class XII/ 10 +2 or equivalent from a recognized board or university with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology as their elective subjects securing not less than 50% marks in Aggregate.
- Candidates must be permanent residents of J&K state as defined in section 6 of the Constitution of J&K state.
- The candidates must have attained the age of 17 years on or before 31st December 2025.
- Candidates applying under reserved categories given in SRO-126 of 1996, dated 28.06.1996 as amended from time to time , must have secured at least 40% marks in aggregate.
- Candidates applying under reserved categories given in SRO-126 of 1996, dated 28.06.1996 as amended from time to time, must submit copies of requisite category certificates together with the application form. The Category certificates should be issued by the issuing authorities as according to SRO.
- Candidates applying for MBBS/ BDS Courses under NR, NRDP, PMF, SIG categories must have secured 50% marks in the qualifying examination as in the case of candidates under the open merit category. The details of seats for all these categories are as follows.
- Children of non-permanent resident (All India Service Officers) J&K Cadre who are allotted to the state.
- Children of Non-Permanent Resident employee of the State or Central Govt Offices or institution run by the State and who have the continuous Service of not less than 15 years in the J&K State: “NR” One Seat in GMC, Jammu.
- Children of Non-Permanent resident Personal (Army, Navy and Air Force): “NRDP”One seat in GMC, Jammu
- Children of Non-Permanent resident Defense Personal serving in “SIG” (Siachen Glacier area) :”SIG”One seat in Govt. Medical College , Jammu.
Selection Procedure
For admission in M.B.B.S and B.D.S courses a candidate will need to appear and successfully qualify for the NEET 2025 (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test). Then, they will have to apply through online application of J&K MBBS & BDS admission.
Only the candidates who fill up the online application form are eligible for Jammu and Kashmir MBBS/ BDS admission 2025. The candidates apply online for the courses and verify their documents successfully. Then, they will be added to the provisional merit list and the candidates will be informed about the same.
The candidates then will have to submit their preference of colleges and lock their options or else it can be locked automatically. Selected candidates will require reporting to the allotted course and take admission within the stipulated time and after through verification of required documents they granted admission.
