Puducherry MBBS/ BDS 2023 Counselling has been started. Puducherry is a union territory located in the southern part of the Indian peninsula. The Centralized Admission Committee (CENTAC) conducts the MBBS/BDS admissions for Colleges run by the Government / Societies of the Puducherry Government. The admission is based on NEET score. The Jawaharlal Institute Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER) conducts JIPMER for MBBS courses in its affiliated colleges. Admission Procedure

The admission for the MBBS/BDS in the union territory of Puducherry is done based on NEET UG score. CENTAC prepare the merit list for MBBS admission. The candidates can check the NEET 2023 qualifying percentile based on the merit position and prefer their choice of college for which the seat will be allocated to the candidates.

The list of candidates who qualify for counseling for JIPMER 2023 should report at venue opt for a seat and get selected. Then, candidates have to undergo medical examination and biometric (Finger-print / signature) verification after their counselling process gets over. After due verification of the documents, clearance of biometric parameters, medical fitness certified by competent authority nominated by the Institute, the admission letter are issued to the candidate.

Entrance Exams

The Puducherry MBBS/BDS admissions will be done on the basis of NEET exams. Counselling of NEET 2023 in the union territory of Puducherry is organized by the CENTAC. NEET exam is conducted every year most probable in May month. For year 2023, it has been conducted on 7th May 2023.

JIPMER MBBS is a medical entrance examination for admission into undergraduate MBBS courses. It is conducted by the Jawaharlal Institute Postgraduate Medical Education & Research located in Karaikal & Puducherry. The successful candidates of this examination become eligible to pursue MBBS course at Jawaharlal Institute Postgraduate Medical Education & Research and its affiliated campuses.

Puducherry MBBS/BDS Admission 2023

Eligibility:

NEET:

• The candidate should be an Indian citizen.
• Applicants of French national living in union territory of Pondicherry covered by the pact of cession are also eligible to apply through NEET.
• The minimum age of candidate must be 17 years on or before 31^st December during the year of application.
• The candidate must possess a domicile certificate of the Pondicherry.
• Aspirants must have completed 10+2 or HSC from the Board of Higher Secondary Examination of Tamil Nadu or any other equivalent examination with Physics, Biology, Chemistry, and English subjects.
• They must secure at least 50% marks in 10+2 (40% in case of the candidates from OBC / MBC/ BCM / EBC/ SC/ BT/category)
• It is must for all candidates to qualify NEET 2023 with prescribed cutoff marks

JIPMER:

• Lower age limit: Candidate aspiring to apply must be at least 17 years of age as on 31 December 2023.
• Senior Secondary Subjects: The candidate should have had subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English in his/her 12^th.
• Class 12^th percentage: The candidate must have passed Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English individually and should have secured at least 60% (50% for reserved category) aggregate taken together.
• Waiting for results: The candidates who are waiting for their 12^th result can also apply for JIPMER 2023 given they satisfy the age criteria and pass in the given subjects with the percentage of marks required.

Selection Procedure

Given below are the processes through which candidates are selected in both NEET & JIPMER:

NEET:

The candidates taking admission through NEET should make it to the merit list successfully then should fill the application form for Puducherry MBBS/BDS. On the basis of the entries received through the application form CENTAC prepare a Merit list and the candidates who get their names listed on the merit list have to report to the counselling center in order to get their documents verified.

After the documents of the candidates are verified successfully they are allotted seats with respect to their ranks and preferences. They then need to report to the allotted college during the stipulated time.

JIPMER:

The list of candidates who qualify for counseling for JIPMER 2023 should report at venue, date and time mentioned in the official website. Biometric finger print and image verifications of the candidate is done on the day of counselling for JIPMER 2023 and if there is a mismatch, the candidate will not be permitted to attend the counselling.

The Candidate should submit the required documents in original along with one set of self-attested copies and after successful verification they will be allotted seats. They need to report to the allocated college during the stipulated time in order to claim the seat.
