It is a state level entrance exam through which candidates can get admission in 3 & 5 years of LL.B course. The exam is conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Government of Maharashtra. It is also referred as Maharashtra Law CET. Various Maharashtra law universities will consider its score card for offering admission. In this article, we have provided the MH CET Law Syllabus 2024.

MH CET Law 2024 Syllabus

The syllabus is prescribed by the authority to be considered by the aspirants. Candidates must prepare as per the syllabus given by the officials. The syllabus for both (3 year LL.B and 5 year LL.B) will be different.

The syllabus contains the subjects for both courses such as Legal Aptitude and Legal Reasoning, General Knowledge with Current Affairs, Logical and Analytical Reasoning and English.

There will be one extra subject for 5 year LL.B course, i.e. Mathematical Aptitude.

Syllabus for 3/5 Year LL.B Course:-

Legal Aptitude and Legal Reasoning:

It test the candidate’s knowledge towards the study of Law, Legal aptitude and problem solving ability. Questions will be prepared from the legal prepositions and a set of facts to which the given prepositions have to be applied.

Candidates will have to assume truth of these prepositions and answer the questions drawing well supported conclusions.

General Knowledge with Current Affairs:

This section includes the topics such as History (Ancient, Medieval and Modern), Geography, General Science, Economics, Civics, and the Current Affairs of the past One Year. The aim is to check the candidate’s knowledge about the recent happening and awareness of the world.

Logical and Analytical Reasoning:

The purpose is to test the candidate’s ability to identify patterns, logical links and rectify illogical arguments. It includes wide analogies, completing arguments, drawing well supported conclusions, reasoning by analogy, applying principles or rules. Moreover, the subject is to measure the ability to understand the structure, relationship and to draw logical conclusions about the structures. It includes reasoning deductively from the set of statements and rules or principles that describes the relationship among persons, things or events.

English:

This section will consist of the questions from the areas like Vocabulary (Synonyms, antonyms, analogies etc.) Proficiency (Idioms and Phrases, One word Substitution, Sentence Improvement and rearrangement, fill in the blanks etc) English Usage Errors (Common errors, Spotting errors, inappropriate usage of words, spelling mistakes etc.) and English Comprehension.

Mathematical Aptitude (for 5 years LL.B only):

This section will be prepared to test the candidate’s interest towards Mathematics which would broadly include the numerical ability.

The Mathematical questions will be asked from the 10th Standard. It contain the various topics like Profit and Loss, Speed and Distance, Time and Work, Algebra, Average, Venn Diagram etc.

MH CET Law 2024 Syllabus can be checked by the students online on the website. Students must go through the complete syllabus before starting their preparation.   1. If i get a good score for 3 year Law Cet , would i be able to apply for law colleges outside Maharashtra , is that possible ?

    1. Entrance exam will be compulsory for admission in Govt. or top rank law colleges however some colleges do provide direct admission on their law programmes.
