NEET 2021 Attempt Limit, Extended for all Aspirants – Get NEET Eligibility

NEET 2021 Application CorrectionNEET 2021 Examination will be conducted on 13th September 2021 for admission to MBBS and BDS courses. NEET is a national level entrance exam of India for offering admission to medical courses. NEET 2021 examination has been conducted by the NTA (National Testing Agency). NEET 2021 Attempt Limit

The upper age limit of 25 years as prescribed under the Regulations on Graduate Medical Education, 1997 vide amendment dated 22.01.2018, was challenged before the Hon’ble High Court of Delhi and the said upper age limit had been upheld vide judgement dated 11.05.2018 in W.P. No.1813/2018 & other connected matters.

The said judgement dated 11.05.2018 was challenged before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in SLP (C) No. 14320/2018 & other connected matters, when vide interim order dated 29.11.2018, candidates who are 25 years and above were provisionally permitted to appear in NEET-UG-2021 subject to the final outcome of the said matters.

The Supreme Court thereafter, vide order dated 29.04.2019 had permitted the candidates to appear provisionally in the Counselling subject to the adjudication o f the matters. The aforesaid matters are pending adjudication before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India and the authorities shall abide by any order that may be passed for NEET-UG-2021.

Thus, the candidates above 25 years are provisionally permitted to appear and their candidature is subject to the outcome of pending Petitions before the Hon’ble Supreme Court.

Earlier, in the year 2016, there was no attempt limit prescribed by the MCI or CBSE for NEET examination. Although exam was held in two phases in same year.

Again, the council has decided to remove the attempt bar limit for all aspirants. This would be an appreciable move of the council. The authority has washout the attempt limit criteria in the NEET examination.

  1. I am from chennai born on 19-01-2003. Age criteria for online application says candidate born on or before 31-12-2003 can apply. But While i am trying to register it does not go beyond year 2000 why?

    1. There are no attempts limit for NEET exam, you can apply for NEET as long as you can remain eligible in terms of Age limit.

  4. Sir, at 46 years, is the candidate eligible to appear in NEET UG exam? And if he qualifies then will he get admitted to the allotted medical collage after counselling?

    1. The maximum age for NEET UG is 25 year and with the reserved category certificate candidates can apply till the of 30 years.
