The Central Board of Secondary Education organizes a national level entrance exam called as National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). The exam will be organized on 6th May 2018. newiconAs per the official site, the Syllabus of NEET(UG), 2018 will be exactly same as it was for NEET(UG), 2017. There is no change in the syllabus for NEET(UG), 2018.

NEET 2018 Admit Card has been released on 17th April. It can be downloaded through online mode only. Candidates should affix the passport size photograph on the admit card. It is not send to any candidates by post or other modes.

NEET 2018 syllabus is prescribed by the Medical Council of India. The syllabus is based on Class 11th & Class 12th subjects, chapters & topics. The syllabus consists of four sections: Physics, Chemistry, Zoology & Botany. The NEET syllabus is prepared after reviewing various state syllabi as well as those prepared by the Council Board of School Education (COBSE), Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT). Class XI: Physical world and measurement, Notion of Potential Entergy, Nature of Physical Laws, Kinematics, Speed, Velocity, Work, Energy and Power, Laws of Motion, Static & Kinetic Friction, Motion of System of Particles and Rigid Body, Gravitation, Kepler’s law of Planetary Motion, The Universal Law of Gravitation, Thermodynamics, Behaviour of Perfect Gas and Kinetic Theory, Properties of Bulk Matter, Bulk Modulous, Critical Velocity, Heat, Work & Internal Energy, Oscillations and Waves.

Class XII: Electrostatics, Electric Charges & their Coservation, Electric Diplole, Magnetic Effects of Current and Magnetism, Carbon Resistors, Kirchhoff’s Laws & Simple Applications, Electromagnetic Induction and Alternating Currents, AC Generator & Transformer, Concept of Megnatic Field, Permanent Magnets, Current Electricity, Electromagnetic Waves, Electromagnetic Spectrum, Dual Nature of Matter and Radiation, Optics, Optical Instruments, Wave Optics, Atoms and Nuclei, Electronic Devices, Conductors.


Class XI: Some Basic Concepts of Chemistry, Laws of Chemical Combination, Structure of Atom, Atomic Number, Isotopes & Isobars, Chemical Bonding and Molecular Structure, Ionic Bond, Covalent Bond, States of Matter: Gases and Liquids, Thermodynamics, Classification of Elements and Periodicity in Properties, Electronagitivity, Equilibrium, Equilibrium in Physical & Chemical Process, Redox Reactions, Hydrogen, Physical & Chemical Properties of Water, s-Block Element (Alkali and Alkaline earth metals), Organic Chemistry-Some Basic Principles and Techniques, Some p-Block Elements, Hydrocarbons, Environmental Chemistry.

Class XII: Solid State, Band Theory of Metals, Solutions, Elevation of Boiling Point, Electro Chemistry, Chemical Kinetics, Surface Chemistry, General Principles and Processes of Isolation of Elements, Electrochemistry, p-Block Elements, d and f Block Elements, Haloalkanes and Haloarenes, Alcohols, Physical & Chemical Properties of Primary Alcohol, Phenols and Ethers, Coordination Compounds, Aldehydes, Ketones and Carboxylic Acids, Organic Compounds Containing Nitrogen, Amines, Cynaides & Isocynaides, Polymers, Biomolecules, Chemistry in Everyday Life, Cleansing Agents – Soaps & Detergents.

NEET 2018 Exam Pattern

The detailed exam pattern of NEET 2018 exam is mentioned below:

  • Exam Mode: The NEET will be conducted on 6th May 2018 through pen & paper (offline) mode.
  • Courses: This exam is conducted to offer admission in MBBS and BDS courses.
  • No. & Type of Question: In NEET exam pattern there will be 180 objective type question will be asked.
  • Exam Duration: The duration of the entrance exam will be three hours.
  • Marking Scheme: Candidates will be awarded 4 marks for each correct response.
  • Negative Marking: One mark will be deducted for incorrect response.

    I am studying 8th standard in Tamilnadu bord syllable .my ambition is to write NEET exam. Next year can I change my school to CBSE. Or I can continue in this school. All our neighbors are talking that 9th syllable was the CBSE syllabus for all Tamilnadu state board students. Is that true.

      It is best to start your prepartion from 9th & 10th onwards so as to clear the exam in the first attempt. The syllabus of CBSE and state board are almost same (except few topics), so its your choice to studied further in CBSE board or your state board schools. You can match the TN board syllabus of 9th class with that of CBSE.

      Candidates must born on or between 07.05.1993 and 01.01.2002 for General category.
      Candidates must born on or between 07.05.1988 and 01.01.2002 for SC/ST/OBC/PwD category.

    My age is more than 25 , since MCI is of no help to us , can i study MBBS abroad ? They say I have to clear NEET , but institutions outside India are developed ones unlike here in India which is still governed and corrupt. So what is the process in that case ?

      U will qualify NEET for take addmission to foreign and qualify marks of previous year is approx 150 but this year i think qualify marks will be approx 150

      The most helpful book to be referred is first and foremost the NCERT textbooks and secondly MTG fingertips ..
