MH CET 2024 Eligibility

MH CET 2024 Eligibility is prescribed by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Government of Maharashtra. It is the authority which regulates MH CET examination. It is a state level examination. This examination is organized for providing admission to the UG courses, i.e. engineering and technology, pharmacy & Pharm.D and agriculture.

Through this exam, candidates can get admission to the various Institutions/colleges located in Maharashtra. In this article, we are providing complete details about MHT CET Eligibility 2024.

MH CET Eligibility 2024

Candidates should check the eligibility first before applying MH CET 2024 application form. The complete eligibility criteria 2024 for engineering/technology, pharmacy & Pharm.D courses are mentioned below:

General Eligibility:

  • Nationality: Candidates must be a citizen of India.
  • Qualifying Exam: Candidates should pass HSC/ 12th or equivalent examination from a recognised board.
  • Appearing: Candidates, those are in the final year of qualifying exam can also apply.
  • Age Limit: There will be no age limit for appearing & admission to MHT CET 2024.

Candidature Type:

All India Candidature:

Candidates who have Indian Nationality are eligible under this category.

Maharashtra State Candidature:

Candidates can claim only one type of Maharashtra State Candidature Type which is given below from Type A to E.

TypeEligibility Criteria
Type ACandidates, those pass 10th & also 12th or Diploma in Engineering or B.Sc examination from a recognized institution in Maharashtra state.

Candidates, those have a domicile of Maharashtra or born in Maharashtra.

Type BCandidates, those not fall in Type A, but those fathers or mother is domiciled in Maharashtra & have domicile certificate.
Type CCandidates, those not fall in the Type A & B but those fathers or mother is a government employee of India & posted in Maharashtra State before last date of submission of application for CAP.
Type DCandidates, those not fall in any of the Type A, B & C but those fathers or mother is an employee or retired employee of Government of Maharashtra.
Type ECandidates who pass 10th & 12th examination from a recognized board situated in a disputed Maharashtra Karnataka Border Area or from Maharashtra and whose Mother tongue is Marathi.

Minority Candidature:

Candidates who belong to a particular Linguistic or Religious Minority Community from Maharashtra & as notified by the Government are eligible under this category.

Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Candidature:

  • The children of citizens, who are displaced from Jammu and Kashmir to any part of India or from unsafe border area of Jammu and Kashmir to a relatively safer place in Jammu
    and Kashmir from 1990 onwards due to terrorist activities.
  • The children of officers belonging to Indian Administrative Services (IAS) or Indian Police Services (IPS) or Indian Foreign Services (IFS) and children of staff belonging to military and paramilitary forces transferred to Jammu and Kashmir to combat terrorist activities and joined the post on or before the last date for submission of an application for admission.
  • The children of staff and officers of Jammu and Kashmir police engaged in combating terrorism are eligible under this category.

Children of NRI/OCI/ PIO, Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries, Foreign National:

These types of Candidature Candidates are exempted from appearing for MHT CET 2024.

Qualification Criteria:

For Engineering & Technology (1st Year):

Maharashtra State Candidature Candidate:

  • Qualifying Exam: Pass HSC or its equivalent examination from a recognized board.
  • Subjects: Pass the above qualifying examination with Physics & Mathematics as a compulsory subject along with one of the Biotechnology/ Biology/ Chemistry/ Technical/ Vocational subjects.
  • Minimum Marks: Pass the above exam with minimum 45% marks (40% marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) in the above subjects taken together.
  • Diploma Candidates: Candidates, those pass Diploma in Engineering and Technology, they can also apply.
  • B.Sc Degree: Those pass B.Sc. Degree from a recognized university as defined by UGC can also apply. Passed XII standard with Mathematics as a subject.
  • Secure score in MH CET 2024 examination.

All India & Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Candidature Candidates:

  • Qualifying Exam: Pass HSC or its equivalent examination from a recognized board.
  • Subjects: Pass the above qualifying examination with Physics & Mathematics as a compulsory subject along with one of the Biotechnology/ Biology/ Chemistry/ Technical/Vocational subjects.
  • Secure score in JEE Main 2024 (Paper 1) & MH CET 2024 examination.

For Pharmacy:

Maharashtra State & All India Candidature Candidates:

  • Qualifying Exam: Pass 12th or its equivalent examination from a recognized board.
  • Subjects: Pass the above qualifying examination with Physics & Chemistry as a compulsory subject along with one of the Biotechnology/ Biology/ Mathematics subjects.
  • Minimum Marks: Pass the above exam with minimum 45% marks (40% marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) in the above subjects taken together.
  • Secure score in MH CET 2024 examination.

For Pharm.D:

Maharashtra State & All India Candidature Candidates:

  • Qualifying Exam: Pass 12th or its equivalent examination from a recognized board.
  • Subjects: Pass the above qualifying examination with Physics & Chemistry as a compulsory subject along with one of the Biotechnology/ Biology/ Mathematics subjects.
  • Minimum Marks: Pass the above exam with minimum 45% marks (40% marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) in the above subjects taken together.

OR

  • Qualifying Exam: Pass Diploma in Pharmacy from the Institution affiliated to state board & having approval or competent central authority and State Government.
  • Minimum Marks: Pass the above exam with minimum 45% marks (40% marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) in the above subjects taken together.
  • Secure minimum 50% marks in MH CET 2024 examination.

Note: For Mining Course, female candidates are not eligible.

For B.Sc Hons (Agriculture):

  • Qualifying Exam: Passed 12th from Maharashtra State Board of Higher Secondary Education or an equivalent.
  • Subjects: Pass the above qualifying examination with PCB/ PCM/ PCMB or Inter Agriculture (with
    Physics, Chemistry) and English.

  8. My son born in Akola, Maharashtra. But he passed 10th from Jharkhand (CBSE board) & 12th from Chhattisgarh (CBSE board). Can he give the exam.

    The student is born in Pune, but her entire education is in UP. Her parents are also setteled in UP. Is she eligible for MH-CET.
