• Application form for NSD 2023 admission has been made available through both online mode only.
• The NSD 2023 Application form has been started from 10th June 2023.
• To fill the application form, the candidates need to provide their personal, academic, contact and other details.

NSD Eligibility Criteria 2023

Following are the complete eligibility criteria for NSD 2023 Examination:

• Age Limit: Candidates minimum age should be 18 years and maximum 30 years. The upper age limit is relaxed for reserved category candidates up to 5 years for SC/ ST candidates.
• Working Knowledge: Candidates should have the working knowledge of Hindi and English language.
• Qualification: Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University in India or Abroad.
• Experience: Candidates have to participate in at least 6 different theatres production with attached document proof of the theatre experience, certificate of participation, brochure, leaflet, newspaper, etc.
• Recommendation Letter: The recommendation letter from at least one Theatre expert.
• Physical Fitness: Candidates will be required to undergo a medical test for physical fitness in NSD campus/empanelled hospital.

NSD 2023 Admit Card

The NSD Admit card will release from second week of July 2023 through online mode. Admit card contains details such as the name of the candidates, time and date of the exam, exam center and roll number, etc.

Candidates should carry their admit card on the day of examination as no candidates will be allowed to enter the examination hall. Candidates keep safe their admit card till the completion of admission process.

NSD 2023 Answer Key

NSD 2023 Answer key will release from July/ August 2023 through online mode. Candidates can check the answer key from the website of National School of Drama, we will also provide the link to get the answer key.

With the help of an answer key, candidates can evaluate or estimate the scores secured in the exam before the declaration of the result. The answer key contain the correct answers for every questions asked in the exam.

NSD 2023 Result

The NSD Result has been declared on 8th August 2023 through online mode. On the basis of the entrance exam, result has been published in the form of a merit list. The candidates name and marks has been displayed in the merit list.

All the candidates appeared for the entrance exam will awarded test wise rank as per marks secured in the test prepared. The result will not be sent to any candidates individually through post or any other offline mode.

NSD 2023 Selection Process

There is a 2 stage selection process for shortlisting the candidates for admission to the National School of Drama. The first stage is a preliminary test and the second stage will be a final workshop.

Stage 1: Preliminary Test

The preliminary test compromise of following three tests to assess the aptitude, dramatic capabilities, and general knowledge of the candidates.

• Written Test: This test will assess the critical aptitude of the candidates and their power of expression in English and Hindi.
• Practical Test: Enactment of one dramatic and one poetry passage will be done in the practical test. Candidates will be assessed on their ability to sing, play an instrument, express directorial ideas, etc.
• Analytical capacity test: General knowledge of the candidates related to theatre and other performing arts and their idea and the capacity to express them will be judged.

Stage 2: Final Workshop

• Candidates who clear all the three rounds of the preliminary test will be invited to the final workshop.
• The workshop will be conducted for 5 days by an expert committee set up for this purpose.
• For participating in the workshop, the candidates will have to appear at the National School of Drama in person.
• Medical tests of the candidates will also be conducted and only those found to be medically fit will be offered admission.
• Admission will be granted to the candidates on the basis of their combined performance in the preliminary and final test as well as their experience, background, etc.

NSD Admission 2023

National School of Drama conducts the preliminary test for the candidates, and after that it will organize the audition and final workshop. A merit list for selected candidates will be released by the authority through online mode.

Those candidates who have qualified in the Preliminary exam and final workshop are eligible final NSD admission. Candidates will also have to bring all the required documents like a Theatre certificate, Recommendation Letter, Mark sheet, etc. at the time of admission.
