Uttaranchal University Scholarships 2024: Eligibility & How to Apply

Uttaranchal University was established in 2013. It is a group of institutes that includes Law College Dehradun (2002), Uttaranchal Institute of Management, Uttaranchal Institute of Technology (2006), etc. It is recognized by the UGC under section 2 (f) and 12 (B) of the UGC Act, 1956 and by other statutory bodies of the State and the Nation.

The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has accredited with the prestigious “A+ Grade” to the university. This university has created a history by receiving the NAAC A+ Grade in the first cycle of Accreditation in the State of Uttarakhand. This is the first university in Uttarakhand State who receive the A+ Grade.

Uttaranchal University is also provides the scholarship to the candidates. By recognizing the academic excellence of the aspirants and those who perform extremely well in their qualifying exam the various scholarships are awarded to the them. General Conditions for Scholarship:

Candidates will not be entitled to more than one scholarship out of all the mentioned scholarship above. Aspirants can choose the best scholarship whichever is higher and beneficial at the time of admission.

Candidates won’t be able to change or interchanges their chosen scholarship with another in the future. The scholarship award will be applicable to the Net Tuition Fee for scholarship types, Sushila Devi scholarship for Girls, Scholarship to the Wards of Defence Personnel, Scholarship to the Alumni and Scholarship to the Sibling.

For the award of scholarship, eligible candidates are required to submit an affidavit duly signed by their parents/ legal guardians accepting all the conditions. These provided conditions are applicable only for Law programmes of the university.

Merit Scholarship:

Uttaranchal University encourages scholarly aptitude in applicants. Following scholarships are awarded to the candidates who score higher in their qualifying exam. On the basis of the performance of the candidates in the qualifying exam, the merit scholarship will be awarded to the aspirants.

• In first attempt, candidates must clear all the programmes/ subjects of their qualifying examination.
• The first year of candidates are applicable for this scholarship, subsequent years of candidates cannot claim the scholarship.

Note: In the qualifying examination, there will be no rounding of CGPA or the marks is considered, For example, in case a student score 8.99 CGPA it will be considered as 8.99 and will not be considered as 9.00 similarly.

Uttarakhand State Domicile Scholarship

Candidates with Uttarakhand Domicile, awards 26% of scholarship on Tuition Fee and 40% of seats for those reserved category for the entire programmes. To be considered for this scholarship, candidates must carry a valid Domicile Certificate (Original) of Uttarakhand State at the time of admission/ counselling.

Scholarship to the Wards of Defence Personnel:

To the son/daughter of defence personnel, 5% of scholarship on net Tuition fee is awarded (including Para Military viz ITBP, CRPF, etc.) for the entire duration of the course by the university. Candidates must carry a valid certificate (Original) of their father mother at the time of admission/ counselling to avail this scholarship.

In case of serving Defence Personnel:

• A Dependent’s card released to the serviceman/ A certificate issued by the Unit Head/ C.O. of the servicemen.
• ID card of the servicemen
• ID/ Aadhaar card of the candidate

In case of retired Defence Personnel:

• ID card of the Ex-Servicemen
• Discharge certificate of the servicemen
• ID/ Aadhaar card of the student

In case of deceased Defence Personnel in combat:

• Dependent’s card issued to the servicemen/ A certificate issued by the Unit Head/ C.O. of the servicemen
• ID/ Aadhaar Card of the candidate
