VITREE 2026 Application Form

Here we have mentioned the complete application form details of VITREE 2026: 

• VIT Ph.D Admission (VITREE) 2026 Application Form has been released on 27th August 2025. 
• There is an online facility available to complete the registration procedure, no offline method is provided. 
• Initially, candidates have to register themselves by providing the basic information in the given space.
• After registration, fill the application form with details such as personal, academic qualification, communication information. 
• Submit the prescribed amount of application fee using the available payment option. 
• Upload the requisite documents such as photo & signature in prescribed format to avoid rejection.  
• Recheck the details, submit it & do not forget to take a hardcopy of application form for further usage. 

Application Fee: 

• Application fee is of Rs. 1200/- with GST for every category candidates. 
• Submitted application fee will not be refunded under any circumstances. 
• Registration fee can be submitted using an online facility only. 

VITREE 2026 Eligibility Criteria 

Candidates are suggested to fulfill the eligibility criteria first before filling the form: 

For Ph.D in Engineering Stream: 

• Qualification: Candidates with Master’s degree in Engineering/ Technology in the relevant discipline or equivalent such as M.Sc (Engineering)/ M.S (By Research)/ M.Tech (By Research) can apply. OR
• Applicants with M.Sc Computer Science, M.Sc (IT), & MCA degree holders are eligible to apply. 
• Marks: In qualifying degree, candidates with minimum 60% marks (for all the year’s semester) wherever marks are awarded, or a CGPA 6.5 on a 10 point scale in cases where letter grades are awarded can apply. 
• For all research programmes, it is compulsory that candidates should have studied their previous degree (UG & PG) in the regular, full time mode. 

For Ph.D in Design & Planning (Offered in Vellore Campus Only): 

• Qualification: Applying candidates with master’s degree in Design/ Planning, M.tech, M.E, M.Sc (Physiology), any master’s degree in Arts, Media Studies, Multimedia and Animation in full time can apply for admission. 
• Marks: Candidates with 60% marks or a CGPA of 6.5, on a point scale are mandatory to apply. 

For Ph.D in Architecture & Planning (Offered in Vellore Campus Only): 

• Qualification: To be eligible for admission, candidates must have bachelor’s degree in Architecture/ Planning and a master’s degree in Architecture/ Design/ Planning/ Building engineering & management or its equivalent in full time can apply. 
• Marks: In the qualifying exam, candidates must score aggregate of 60% or a CGPA of 6.5 on a 10 point scale wherever letter grades are awarded.

VIT Ph.D Admission Procedure 2026

Candidates can apply for admission in Ph.D programmes through VITREE entrance exam organized by VIT. The admission process will be organized in two sessions, i.e. January and July 2026. VIT Ph.D Admission Process will be regulated through online mode. If applicable, GATE or NET score card are also required for admission. VITREE 2026 Exam is scheduled to be held on 7th December 2025 for January session. 

The complete process will comprise of VITREE application submission, confirmation of PG qualifying degree, admit card generation, VITREE exam qualify, Personal Interview, Guide selection, tuition fee payment, orientation programme, class commencement and document verification.

VIT Research Entrance Examination (VITREE)

VITREEE exam is a gateway for admission in various Ph.D. /Direct Ph.D. and Ph.D (Deep Technology) programmes offered by VIT group of Institutions. VIT will conduct the examination on 7th December 2025 through online mode.

The exam duration will be two hours. Multiple choice questions (MCQs) will be asked in the question paper. One mark will be given for each correct answer and no negative marking will be done for wrong answer. The question paper will be prepared in English language except any language subject.

VITREE Result 2026 

VIT will announce the Ph.D exam result on 20th December 2025. VITREE 2026 Result link will be provided through online mode only. Application number and password will be needed to check the result.

There is no other offline mode available to check the result. Candidates who are declared “Not Qualified” will not be able to proceed for the personal interview round. Candidate must keep safe their score card till the admission procedure.

 VIT Ph.D Counselling 2026

 VIT Ph.D Counselling (Personal Interview) will be held on 13th & 14th December 2025. The candidates selected for admission will be intimated through SMS or Email. The personal interview is a part of the counselling procedure. The interview process will have SoP (Statement of Purpose)/ Research proposal, Questions on SoP, Knowledge of relevant subject, communication skills and research experience. 

Candidates having valid GATE/NET score card will be provided scholarship as per AICTE norms. On the basis of VITREE exam & personal interview process, candidates will be selected for admission. Once the seat is allotted to candidate, they have to report to the VIT, Vellore in person in the month of January 2026. After completing the tuition fee payment and document verification, admission will be given to candidate.
