CBSE Update: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is promoting skill-based education as there has been an increase in students being more interested in selecting vocational subjects in CBSE schools in the last three years.

CBSE is offering candidates from classes 06th to 12th with 99 skill-based subjects. Complete details regarding the CBSE skill subjects are released officially at cbse.gov.in

The skill subjects are divided into three categories: List of Skill Modules offered in Middle Classes (Classes VI-VIII), List of Skill Modules offered in Secondary Classes (Classes IX-X), and List of Skill Modules offered in Senior Secondary Classes (Classes XI-XII).

How to Check CBSE Skill Subject List

Below are the steps that need to be followed to check out the class and subject-wise CBSE skill subject list:

  • Visit the CBSE site, i.e, cbse.gov.in
  • Now, select the “Academic Website” option.
  • You will be redirected to homepage.
  • Now look for “skill education”, click on it.
  • A new page title as “Department of Skill Education,” will appear.
  • Click on the “List of Skill Subjects/Skill Modules offered by CBSE” link.
  • Select your class and click on it.
  • CBSE skill subject list will appear on the screen.

There are a total of 34 Skill Modules for Classes VI to XII, 22 Skill Subjects for Secondary Level (Classes IX–X), and 43 Skill Subjects for Senior Secondary Level (Classes XI–XII).

The skills subjects included Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Web Developer, Design Thinking & Innovation, What to do when Doctor is not around, and more.

All the students are also required, “Please note that NO FEE is to be paid by the school to the Board for offering any Skill Module/ Skill Subject or for downloading any certificate.”
