Shri Shivaji College of Agriculture, Amravati
Shri Shivaji College of Agriculture, Amravati was established in the year, 1959 by Late Dr. Punjabrao alias Bhausaheb Deshmukh (Ex-Union Agriculture Minister). The college is run by Shri Shivaji Education Society, Amravati, which is the largest educational society in Vidarbha. The college is affiliated to Dr. Punjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola and approved by ICAR, New Delhi.
Campus
The entire infrastructure required for providing quality education, and most of the facilities are available in the college. The society comprising of total 272 education institutes of varied academic nature. The whole campus of the college is Wi-Fi enabled with Hi-speed internet connectivity. The faculty of the college uses the different teaching aids to enhance the student’s practical and theoretical knowledge.
Facilities
There are numbers of facilities which are offered by the college for their students. There is facility for sports and other activities are available at the college. Many other facilities are provided by the college like hostel accommodations for boys and girls, Laboratories, conference hall, seminar hall, guest lecture, information centre for farmers, NSS unit, library, etc. The college has established a student counseling cell to monitor the students in their academic as well as co-curricular activities, so as to build up personality. The college has adopted course credit system under the semester pattern.
Programmes
The college has been providing instructions up to B.Sc. (Agril) degree course and for M.Sc. (Agril) course in the disciplines of Agriculture Economics and Agriculture Extension. The college offers four year degree programme in the field of Agricultural. MCAER, Pune will conduct admission procedure for the admission in B.Sc & M.Sc agriculture degree programme. Students having passed XII Std. (Science) Examination or an equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and English, are eligible for admissions.
