The authority organize a state level examination to get admission into various engineering courses. The exam is also known as JKCET (Jammu and Kashmir Common Entrance Test). JKCET Counselling 2026

The counselling will be conducted for successfully qualified candidates only. Candidates will be able to participate in counselling round through online mode only. Participating candidates in counselling round have to fill online preference form through the official website. Candidates must select their most preferred choices first along with the college of preferences.

Before submitting the preferences, candidates have to submit the online fee of Rs. 1200. The fee must be paid through credit card/debit card/e-banking. Candidates have to fill the forms by entering their “Application Number”, “CET Marks”, “CET Roll Number”, “Rank”, “Date of Birth”, etc.

After few days of the choice filling, the authority has released the seat allotment list of the candidates who get a seat in various colleges of J & K. The list comprises of candidates roll number, name, rank, allotted discipline & institution.

Certificates Verification:

First, candidates have to verify their original documents/certificates along with self-attested photocopies in the verification centre as per document verification schedule. Candidates are called for the verification round, according to the rank.

Online Preference Form Filling:

After the certificate verification process, candidates have to fill their choices of colleges/courses as per their preferences. Candidates are allowed to organize mock exercise (rehearsal) of filling up of the preferences to get a clear idea with regard to their choices. Candidates have to deposit a Fee of Rs. 1200 through online mode. After submission of fee, the preference form of the candidate will be locked. Candidates have to modify their choices till they lock the preferences. After that, no modification can be done.

Seat Allotment:

Candidates are informed through online mode about allotment of seats. The university has release list of selected candidates for admission. The seats can be filled on the basis of merit-cum-preferences with reservation rule as applicable.

Reporting:

Candidates report directly to the allotted college/institution for admission on or before the last date. Candidates have to bring all their relevant documents in original at the time of admission. Candidate’s documents can be verified by the concerned Heads of the Institutions.

The admission of the candidates can be provisional & liable to be cancelled in case of any false information.
