The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) is the organization which monitors study programs on education in the country.

In India, Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) is a title given to teachers who have completed their graduation and training. If you have done postgraduate course and also completed B.Ed, then you can work as a post graduate teacher (PGT).

Eligibility Criteria

  • Students must have completed BA (Bachelor of Arts), B.Com (Bachelor of Commerce), B.Sc (Bachelor of Science) or any other graduation level degree from any recognized university or a college.
  • Students should have obtained at least 50% marks in graduation level.
  • You can also join B.Ed program after pursuing a master’s degree.

Course Duration

The duration of B.Ed program is now two years, but up untill 2014 it was of one year’s duration. This course can be pursued as a full-time or through distance learning mode.
