Once you have completed this course, you can also go for the master courses in this field like M.Ed (Master of Education) offered by various institutions of India.

The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) is the organization which monitors study programs on education in the country.

In India, Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) is a title given to teachers who have completed their graduation and training. If you have done postgraduate course and also completed B.Ed, then you can work as a post graduate teacher (PGT).

Eligibility Criteria

  • Students must have completed BA (Bachelor of Arts), B.Com (Bachelor of Commerce), B.Sc (Bachelor of Science) or any other graduation level degree from any recognized university or a college.
  • Students should have obtained at least 50% marks in graduation level.
  • You can also join B.Ed program after pursuing a master’s degree.

Course Duration

The duration of B.Ed program is now two years, but up untill 2014 it was of one year’s duration. This course can be pursued as a full-time or through distance learning mode.

What is the scope after completing B.Ed?

    1. Since you are already qualified to become a teacher, i suggest you to appear in CTET and pursue PG in your subject.

    1. If you have strong subject knowledge, why not consider teaching Mathematics? With a B.Ed degree, you’re eligible to work in both private and government schools.

    1. You can appear in CUET PG to get admission in Central Universities. Also appear in state or university specific entrance exams.
