The board was established in the year 1973 by an Act (Tripura Act. no.12) called Tripura Board of Secondary Education Act, 1973 as passed by the Tripura Legislative Assembly. The board started its work on 1st January, 1976.

Tripura Board SSLC 2026 Schedule is almost same as 2025. It will be held in a single term similar to last year. For the upcoming board exam candidates will have to appear for the exam from 26th February 2026.
In 2025 year, the exam was started on 24th February 2025 till 22nd March 2025. In 2023 year, the exams was started on 16th March 2023, and last exam was held on 18th April 2023. For session exams were from 2nd March to 23rd March 2024. The Exam was conducted on an average duration of every examination was 3 hours.
Candidates are advised to prepare for the exam as per the schedule.
