Vardhaman Mahavir Medical College and Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi

Vardhaman Mahavir Medical College (VMMC) is one of the premier institution came into existence in November, 2001.  The government of India established the VMMC at Safdarjung Hospital, one of the renowned and largest hospitals under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. All the medical courses offered by the institution are affiliated to the Guru Govind Singh Indraprastha University. It has the recognition from Medical Council of India (MCI).

Campus

The state-of-the-art infrastructure of the college is situated in New Delhi. The air-conditioned building of the campus houses the academic and administrative blocks. Besides this, the campus has separate library building.

Facilities

Vardhaman Mahavir Medical College, New Delhi has a grand library that houses nearly 17,000 medical books. The large reading hall is provided for the comfortable pursuits of reading. In the library, there is a facility of internet and computer lab. The exclusive hostel facility is available only for MBBS students. The seven storied building is reserved only for hostellers. The other facilities include cafeteria, sports facility, transportation facility, etc.

Programmes

The institution regulates full-time Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) programme. It takes 4.5 years plus one year internship to complete this course. The undergraduate doctoral degree will be awarded to only those students who have successfully completed the course.

Internship

Vardhaman Mahavir Medical College, New Delhi is associated with the Safdarjung central government hospital. All the clinical teaching and practices will be carried out in this hospital. It is compulsory for the students to complete one year internship from Safdarjung Hospital.
