  • National testing agency conducts JEE Mains every year in two sessions – January and April sessions.

How to Apply for NTA JEE Mains 2027?

  • Register for online application by filling asked details and create password.
  • Generate an application number, then login using the generated application number and password
  • Fill application form by entering personal details, paper, choose exam cities, educational qualification detail, etc.

JEE Main Correction Window 2027

NTA provides one time opportunity to the registered candidates to edit/ modify details in online application form.

JEE Main correction window 2027 will open for 2-3 days during which candidates will be allowed to correct details in form. Additional fee wherever applicable shall be paid by students through credit card/ debit card/ net banking/ UPI.

JEE Main 2027 Eligibility

Check JEE Main eligibility criteria provided in below given section:

  • Age Limit: There is no age limit for candidates to apply for JEE Mains. Those appeared XII/ equivalent exam in the year 2025, 2026 or appearing in 2027 can appear irrespective of their age. However, students must check with the institute they want admission as they may be required to fulfil the age criteria.
  • Qualification: Students should have passed Class 12th level or its equivalent from a recognised board.
  • Number of attempts: As the exam is conducted twice a year (January & April), students can appear for JEE main up to six times over three consecutive years.
  • Eligibility for NITs, IIITs & CFTIs: Applying students participating via CSAB, should have passed 12th level with atleast 75% marks (65% for ST/SC), or be in the top 20 percentile in 12th conducted by respective boards.
  • Eligibility for JEE Advanced: Only the top 2,50,000 qualifiers of NTA JEE Main exam will be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced.

JEE Main 2027 Exam Pattern

  • Exam mode: JEE Mains is conducted in online computer based test mode.
  • Type of Questions: There will be multiple choice questions (MCQs).
  • Duration: Paper will be of 3 hours. However, for PWD 4 hours will be provided.
  • Paper Medium: It will be available in 13 languages – English, Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Assamese, Kannada, Marathi, Punjabi, Malayalam, Odia, Telugu, Tamil & Urdu.

  • Marks Distribution: Paper 1 will be of total 300 marks – 100 marks each in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  • Negative marking: 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer. 4 marks will be awarded to every correct response.

JEE Main 2027 City Intimation Slip

NTA will release JEE Main 2027 city intimation slip in second week of January 2027 for Session 1. Students will be able to download it online through login. They will release it before the admit card to notify students about the city allotted to them for exam.

Students must prepare themselves for travel/accommodation to the exam city as soon as they download the city slip. For session 2, city slip will be available in third week of March 2027.

JEE Main 2027 Admit Card

The admit card of JEE Main 2027 will be available for downloading three to four days before the exam date. The admit card will display complete details about the appearing candidate as well as the exam and venue of exam.

Instructions for the exam day will be also provided which have to be strictly followed by students. To download admit card, students need to enter their application number and password online on the website. In case of problem in downloading it, students need to contact officials.

Complete rules and regulations mentioned on hall ticket must be followed on the exam day to avoid disqualification risks. Along with admit card, students need to bring their Id proof for verification in exam centre.

JEE Main 2027 Answer Key

The provisional answer key along with recorded response sheet will be available in first week of February 2027 for Session 1.

With the release of the key, students will be able to submit objections in case they find any error after paying the prescribed fee. The authorities release the final answer key a few days after students consider the objections.

Last year, NTA also released JEE Main Question Papers on the website for transparency of students, so candidates can expect it to released for current session too.

JEE Main 2027 Result

After the release of final answer key, NTA will declare JEE Main 2027 results for Session 1 in 3rd week of February 2027. Students can check result and download scorecards online after login. The scorecard of JEE Main mentions details such as candidates name, marks, NTA score and All India rank.

NTA will also display JEE main 2027 toppers in the result pdf. For Session 2, you can check the result in the 3rd week of April 2027. Those attending both the sessions will have the best of two session scores considered for final AIR calculation.

JEE Main 2027 Counselling

The counselling process of JEE Main 2027 will be organised by JoSAA and CSAB in April/ May 2027 tentatively. 

What is JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority): JOSAA is the primary counselling organised for admission in IIT /NITs /GFTIs /IIITs. It is conducted based on JEE Main and Advanced ranks.

What is CSAB (Central Seat Allocation Board): CSAB is a special round that the authorities organise as a second chance / supplementary counselling to fill vacant seats in NITs/GFTIs/ IIITs.
