Government Medical College, Kozhikode

Government Medical College was established in the year 1957. The institution imparts undergraduate and postgraduate courses in various medical specialties and super-specialties. The institution is affiliated to Kerala University and approved by Medical Council of India (MCI).

Campus

The institution is situated in Kozhikode, Kerala. The campus is spread in an area of 270 acres of land and is located about 8 km east from the heart of Kozhikode city.

Facilities

The lecture halls are spacious and are equipped with modern communication system to facilitate-learning teaching process. The institution has a library which has a collection of books, journal, periodicals and project reports. The institution provide separate hostel facilities for boys and girls. It has a well-facilitated computer centre. It has an amphitheatre for various cultural events. It has a cafeteria, a conference hall etc.

Programmes

Government Medical College offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the medical field. It offers undergraduate course in Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) for the duration of five and a half years along with the compulsory rotational internship training of one year. The institution also provide course in Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Master of Surgery (MS) for the duration of three years. The college also offers diploma, UG and PG courses in the field of pharmacy.
