Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi is popularly known as IIT Delhi or IITD public engineering college located in the capital of the country. The IIT Delhi is one of the best engineering colleges in the country along with the other 14 IIT’s of the country. The IIT Delhi was established in the year 1951 by the government of India. The college is an autonomous institute managed by the board of directors and various members of the central government. The college has 13 departments offering education in various fields such as engineering, arts, humanities, applied sciences, etc.
Campus:
IIT Delhi is located at Hauz Khas in South Delhi. The institute campus is spread in an area of 325 acres having lush green outfields and surrounded by beautiful monuments like Qutub Minar and Lotus Temple. The inside of the campus comprises of gardens, lawns, residential complexes, academic zone, students residential zone and students recreational area. The institute is well connected to the other major city centre by well connectivity to Delhi railway station, ISBT and Delhi airport located at a distance 19 km, 21 km, 10 km respectively.

Facilities:
The IITD has best in class infrastructure providing all major facilities to its students, having well equipped labs and workshops, spacious and ventilated classrooms with audio visual aids, well equipped computer labs with internet facility and latest configured systems, state of the art workshops, seminar hall and auditorium. The institute is having separate hostel facility for boys and girls, canteen and mess facility, the student’s activity centre having sports and gymnasium facility, medical facility.
Activities:
The IITD gives high emphasis on all round development of the students, hence extracurricular activities are organized throughout the year, some of these activities include Tech fest, sports meet, annual fuctions, robotics competition etc.
