Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts CDS exam at National Level in two divisions, Paper I and Paper II. It is conducted to assign candidates for positions in the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, & Indian Navy. Candidates will have to fulfill the complete eligibility criteria before applying for examination.

CDS 2026 Application Form 

Get complete information related to CDS 2026 application form: 

• Apply for CDS I 2026 will be started from 10th December 2025 & from 20th May 2026 for CDS II 2026. 
• Candidates will be able to complete the examination form through online mode, no offline method will be available. 
• It will be mandatory for the students to fulfill the complete eligibility criteria prior to applying. 
• In OTR registration process, one will have to enter the basic information such as name, mobile number, email ID etc for verification. 
• After registration, fill the application form with personal, academic qualifications, communicational and select the preferences of training institutes. 
• Now upload the scanned documents such as in prescribed format to avoid rejection of form. 
• Recheck the filled form & do not forget to take a hard copy of the registration form for further processing. 

Application Fee:

• CDS 2026 application fee will be of Rs. 200/- for General & OBC category and for Female SC/ ST candidates, fee will be exempted. 
• Application fee for exam will be transferred through online & offline modes. 
• Online facility such as credit card, debit card, UPI and net banking will be accepted. 
• For offline method, fee will be deposited in cash at any SBI branch. 
• In case of “Pay by Cash”, candidates will have to print the system-generated pay-in-slip and submit it with their payment at the SBI branch counter. 

CDS 2026 Application Correction 

In case of any mistake made in the registration process, then candidates will be able to make correction in the submitted form during the correction window. The edit window will be opened through online mode on the website. Candidates will be able to make correction in form from July 2026. 

Initially, candidates will have to use their login credentials on the website to edit details. Correction window will be opened for three days only. Candidates are suggested to edit their details in the form before closing the window, as there will be no extension made by the UPSC.

CDS 2026 Eligibility Criteria 

Candidates can check out the complete CDS 2026 eligibility criteria from below:

• Nationality: Applying candidates must be unmarried and citizen of India, subjects of Nepal, or a persona of India origin who have migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African countries with intention to permanently settle in India. 
• Qualification: Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university/ College to apply for IMA, INA. 
• To be eligible for the Air Force Academy exam, one must have a bachelor’s degree from any recognized university with (Physics & Mathematics at 10+2 level) or bachelor’s degree in engineering. 
• For OTA (Men, Women – Non-Technical), candidates must have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or equivalent institute. 
• Physical Fitness: Applying candidates must be physically fit in all aspects by the three defence departments to apply for UPSC CDS. 
• Appearing: Candidates in final year/ semester degree appearing candidates and yet to pass final year degree will also be considered.

How to Fill CDS 2026 Examination Form

Complete step-by-step procedure to apply for CDS 2026 is mentioned below: 

• Go to the website of UPSC CDS (Link will be given above). 
• On the homepage, click on the “Create an account” button to proceed. 
• Now press “One Time Registration (OTR)” button to start the registration process. 
• Register using name, personal details, communicational detail, etc. 
• For the verification process, an OTP will be sent to registered mobile number. 
• Enter the received OTP and proceed to fill application form. 
• During form filling, candidates will have to enter the details such as personal, communication, academic qualification, etc. 
• Press the “Submit & Proceed” button after rechecking the details. 
• Upload the requisite documents such as Photograph & Signature in specific format. 
• Complete the process by submitting the prescribed amount of application fee as per your category. 
• Now recheck the filled information and proceed to the next page. 
• Click on the “Final Submit” button. 
• A confirmation page will be displayed on the webpage. 
• Take a hardcopy of cds exam form for further processing in admission.
