Amrita Institute of Medical Science & Research Institute is a premier medical college offering academic education in the medical field. The institution was established in the year 2002 and is affiliated to Amrita University. The institution is approved by Medical Council of India (MCI).
Campus
The institution is the part of the Amrita University and is situated in Kochi, Kerala. The campus of the institution is well-established with all the modern facilities with separate academic blocks and student’s blocks. The other university campuses are Coimbatore campus, Amritapuri campus, Bengaluru campus and Mysore campus.
Facilities
The institution provides various necessary facilities to the students such as air-conditioned and spacious classrooms which are equipped with audio-visual aids like LCD projector, OHP and laptop. It has a library which is equipped with journals, periodicals, magazines and project reports. The institution has a well-facilitated computer centre. It has an amphitheatre, a cafeteria etc.
Programmes
Amrita Institute of Medical Science & Research Institute runs various undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the medical field. It offers undergraduate course in Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS). The institution also offers postgraduate courses in MD (Doctor of Medicine), MS (Master of Surgery) and MDS (Master of Dental Surgery). The MBBS and BDS course are having the duration of five and a half-year along with the compulsory rotational internship training of one year while the duration of the MD, MS and MDS courses are three years.
