Bihar Institute of Law (BIL), Patna was established in the year 1984 by Law Society of Bihar. The institution is recognized by the Bar council of India (BCI), New Delhi and affiliated to the Magadh University. BIL has the objective to impart quality legal education to the aspirants of Bihar.

Campus

Bihar Institute of Law (BIL) is situated near the Union Bank,  Bailey Rd, Raja Bazar, Ashiana More of Patna, the capital and largest city of Indian state Bihar. The institution is well-connected by roads and various modes of transportation.

Facilities

The college has a library accommodating sufficient number of books that include reference books and law journals meeting the academic requirements of the students and teachers. The institution organizes moot competitions, law seminars and legal debates regularly in its campus. It has a moot court that enables the students to practice law practically. The airy and spacious classrooms provides the comfortable environment for learning. It also has facilities of canteen, mess, cafeteria, transportation services, etc.

Programmes

Bihar Institute of Law (BIL), Patna offers legal degree in B.A.LL.B and LL.B. The duration of B.A.LL.B and LL.B. is 5 years and 3 years respectively. Students seeking admission to 3-years bachelor of law must have passed graduation with minimum 45% marks and those seeking admission in 5-year integrated law course is required to clear 10+2 from any recognized Board or Open University of India. The institution has annual intake of 60 seats for both the aforesaid courses. The courses run by BIL, Patna are listed below:

  • B.A.LL.B.

Admission

The institution admit the students to its law courses on the basis of Bihar Institute of Law Admission Test (BILAT). The admission will be strictly done according to the merit list prepared on the basis of entrance test.
