Lord Mahavira Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana

Lord Mahavira Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana was formed in the year of 1976 with the blessings of Lord Mahavira Foundation (Regd.) Punjab. The college is affiliated to the Guru Ravidas Ayurved University, Hoshiarpur and approved by the Central Council of Homoeopathy.

Campus

The college campus is spread over a 21000 sq. yard area of land. It is situated in Kitchlu Nagar, Civil Lines, Ludhiana, Punjab. Within the campus, the hospital is also running with the college. The Institution is well-connected with the air, railway and road transportation. The Guru Nanak Stadium, Heliport is the nearest airport located at 2.06 km away from the campus.

Facilities

There is a separate block for each department. The college offers different facilities such as well-equipped laboratories, seminar hall, workshops, gymkhana with indoor and outdoor game facilities and canteen. There is also a separate hostel for girls and boys within the college campus. The library of the college is well-stocked with the wide collection of books, textbooks, periodicals, publications and newspapers. The hospital attached with the college has 100 beds for the patients.

Programmes

Lord Mahavira Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana offers Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) of 5½ years academic period which includes one year of the compulsory rotatory internship. There are 50 seats available for the BHMS students out of which 50% seats are filled through government quota and 50% seats through management quota.

Internship

The Institution offers the compulsory rotatory internship facility within the college campus hospital. The time duration of the rotatory internship is 1 year after the finishing the 4 ½ academic programme of BHMS.
