SGGS Khalsa College, Mahilpur

Sri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College, Mahilpur, Distt. Hoshiarpur (Punjab), India, a Postgraduate college. It was established in the year 1946. It is multi faculty, co-educational college in the rural area. At, the time of its establishment only two faculties (Science & Arts) were introduced, but after that many other courses are also included. The offered courses in the college are affiliated with PTU, Patiala and approved by AICTE, New Delhi.

Campus

The college is situated in Hoshiarpur-Chandigarh Road at 22 km from Hoshiarpur, 37 km from Phagwara, 35 km from Nangal Dam and 45 km from Himachal Pradesh in the foothills of Shivalik Range of Hills. The college is spread over 200 Kanals of land with imposing buildings in lush green, pollution free environment. There are four study centres functioning in the college.

Facilities

The college has a well-stocked library to serve as the backbone to all academic activities up to Postgraduate level classes with a volume of more than 50 thousand books and two well-furnished equipped computer labs. It has a co-operative mess in the hostel and canteen in the college campus. The college has a separate study room for the girls. Recently, it has made the research centre at the college.

The college offers the Graduate and postgraduate courses in M.Sc, M.Com, M.A., B.P.Ed, P.G.D.C.A, B.Sc Agriculture, Music, Arts and B.Sc medical/non-medical. There is a placement & training cell to cater/enhancing not only the employability skills of the students but also to improve their personality. It works on the student’s practical and theoretical knowledge. It also conducts the personality development courses which are the demand of any organization.
