National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct JEE Mains 2026 in online CBT mode. Joint Entrance Examination – JEE (Main) is organised for UG Engineering admissions in B.E/ B.Tech/ B.Arch/ B.Plan. It is also an eligibility test for JEE (Advanced), which is also organised every year for entry into IITs.

  • JEE Main 2026 Registration process has been started on 31st October 2025 for Session 1.
  • Complete application process is carried out in online mode. Forms through any other mode is not accepted.
  • Students have the option of registering for a single session or for both sessions. Form will be bilingual, i.e., in Hindi or English.
  • No request for changes in details is permitted after form submission, so carefully fill in the application details.
  • Submit only a single application, as multiple applications will not be accepted. Strict actions may be taken against those who submit more than one form.
  • Application procedure is divided into various steps – Online Registration, Filling of application, uploading of scanned images, application fee payment & confirmation/ printing of form.
  • After application form submission, students need not send any documents or confirmation page to the authority through post/ fax/ email/ by hand.

JEE Main 2026 Form Correction

The application correction procedure of JEE Main 2026 opens a few days after the completion of registration process. Students can modify the editable details online through login. No correction will be entertained through post/ fax/ mail/ by hand.

For January session, JEE Main Correction 2026 can be done from 1st to 2nd December 2025. For April session, it will begin in 1st – 2nd week of March 2026 for April session. Only one time facility will be provided to candidates for editing the form.

JEE Main 2026 Eligibility Criteria

  • Qualifying Exam: Candidates who have passed 12th or its equivalent in 2024, 2025 or appearing in 12th in the year 2026 are only eligible for JEE Main 2026.
  • Age Limit: There is no age limit prescribed to apply. However, students need to fulfil age criteria prescribed by the institution in which they are taking admission.
  • Attempt Limit: No attempt limit is prescribed.
  • Nationality: Indian nationals as well as international applicants are eligible to apply. International applicants must obtain necessary marks as prescribed by AIU to appear for JEE Main.
  • State Code of Eligibility: Applicants are required to choose state code of eligibility from which they have passed their 12th level.
    • Also, it does not depend on the native place/ residence.
    • Those passing their qualifying exam from a foreign nation have to choose their state code of eligibility as per their permanent address mentioned on their passport.
  • Eligibility for Admitting Institute: For admission in various top institutions like IIITs, NITs, CFTIs, students need to pass their 12th level with a certain combination of subjects –
    • Passed 12th with Physics & Mathematics subjects along with Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology/ technical vocational subjects (For B.Tech/ B.E).
    • Passed 12th with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics as compulsory subjects (For B.Arch).
    • Passed 12th with Mathematics as a compulsory subject (For B.Plan).
  • Qualifying Marks (Through CSAB): For admission through CSAB counselling, students should have passed 12th with 75% marks (65% for ST/SC) OR be among top 20 percentile in 12th level.

 JEE Main 2026 Exam Pattern

  • Mode of Exam: JEE Main 2026 Paper 1 & 2 will be held in CBT mode. However, drawing test of Paper 2 (Architecture) will be held offline (pen and paper mode).
  • Total Papers: For B.E./ B.Tech, paper 1 will be held. For B.Arch, Paper 2A & for B.Plan, Paper 2B will be held.
  • Choice Medium of Paper: The paper will be held in 13 languages – English, Hindi, Bengali, Assamese, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Punjabi, Odia, Telugu, Tamil & Urdu.
  • Type of Questions: Paper have multiple choice questions (MCQs).
  • Time: For Paper 1 & Paper 2A& 2B, 3 hours will be allotted. For both Paper 2A & 2B together, time duration is 3 hours 30 minutes. An additional 20 minutes is given for PWD candidates for 1 hour exam.
  • Marking: For each correct answer, 4 marks will be awarded. -1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.

JEE Main 2026 City Intimation Slip

Before releasing the admit card, NTA will release the city intimation slip online. It will mention the exam city, exam date, etc., details of the appearing candidate. Students need to enter their login details to know the city allotted to them.

For January session, it will be released in first week of January 2026. For Session 2, an advance city intimation slip will be made available in second week of March 2026.

JEE Main 2026 Admit Card

National Testing Agency (NTA) will release the JEE Main admit card 2026 three to four days before the exam date via online mode. It will be accessible from the website by entering the valid login credentials. Details such as application number and date of birth will be required to download the admit card.

To keep a hardcopy of the JEE Main 2026 admit card will be mandatory to appear in the entrance exam. It will consist of details such as name, roll number, exam name, time, venue, signature, etc. On the day of examination, candidates will have to carry a valid admit card along with a valid Photo ID for verification.

JEE Main 2026 Answer Key

JEE Main 2026 Answer key will be published through online mode only for appeared candidates only. It will be released separately for both sessions on the website. Candidates can access the answer key in PDF format.

Moreover, the National Testing Agency will allow the candidates to challenge the JEE Main answer key in case of any discrepancy in it. Candidates will predict their estimated scores in exam with the help of answer key. After analysing all raised queries against the answer key, the final answer key will be published.

JEE Main 2026 Result

JEE Main result 2026 will be released by 12th February 2026 for Session 1. Candidates will have to visit the website to check results through online mode. To download the result, candidates will have to use their login credentials, such as application number and date of birth.

For Session 2, results will be announced by 20th April 2026. It will comprise an NTA score, roll number, percentile, and more. Those top 2,50,000 qualifiers of NTA exam will be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced examination. Candidates will have to download the JEE Main 2026 scorecard from the website and keep it safe till the admission procedure.

JEE Main 2026 Cut Off

NTA will release the qualifying cut off through online mode. Candidates will have to visit the website of NTA to check the JEE Main cut off list. It will be available after the declaration of results through online mode.

For both sessions of JEE Main, separate opening & closing ranks will be released. Cut off will also indicate the minimum marks required to appear for JEE Advanced 2026 exam.

JEE Main 2026 Counselling

JoSAA will organise the JEE Main 2026 counselling procedure through online mode. The detailed notification regarding JoSAA counselling & schedule will be available in April/ May 2026. Those qualified candidates in JEE Main 2026 examination will be called to participate in JoSAA counselling procedure for admission in IITs.

Candidates will have to complete the counselling registration to participate in counselling. CSAB counselling procedure will be organised for special round admissions into NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs,. There will be various steps in counselling such as registration, choice filing, locking of choices, seat allotment, & payment of seat acceptance fee. For verification process, original documents of a candidate will also be required.

  1. My mother surname is not mentioned in the tenth marks memo but all documents ex aadhar voterid passport are mentioned surname as begum is it any problem to fill JEE application form online I have taken notarized affidavit of my mother surname mismatch in my marks memo
