Shree Sant Muktabai Institute of Technology, Jalgaon was established in the year 1983 with a vision to provide quality education with state-of-art infrastructure. The college is affiliated with Maharashtra Board of Technical Education (MSBT). Mumbai and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and recognized by Government of Maharashtra.

The college has sprawling campus located at Bhikamchand Jain Nagar, Pimprala Road, Jalgaon, District Pune of the state of Maharashtra. SMIT offers training & placement assistance to its students in its campus. The TPC conducts various programs regarding placement and training. It arranges guest lecturers from eminent member of reputed companies, providing personality development class, English language classes, industrial tours for understanding industries norms and many other programs. It also conduct campus interview for placement of students.
