Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Medical Sciences & Research, Punjab

Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Medical Sciences & Research, Punjab is the prestigious medical institution named after the sikh fourth guru Sri Guru Ram Das. The institution was established in the year 1997. It is affiliated to the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot and recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI). The clinical teaching of medical students is carried out in Sri Guru Ram Das Charitable Hospital, Vallah. Also, the campus houses a cancer hospital named as Sri Guru Ram Das Rotary Cancer Hospital.

Campus

The college has the sprawling campus covers the area of about 33 acres of land. The site of the campus is at Mehta road, Vallah, Sri Amritsar of the Indian state Punjab. The college campus is consisting of three-storied building equipped with the modern facilities.

Facilities

The facilities include well-stocked central library, lecture theatres, hospital where medical and surgical facilities are available, blood bank is also there in the hospital. The air-conditioned conference hall has the seat capacity of around 400 and is equipped with audio system, 100 seat capacity multipurpose auditorium for conducting cultural events. Also, there is a pre and para-clinical departments in the campus.

Programmes

Apart from providing education in undergraduate courses like Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), the institution also runs postgraduate programmes in clinical and para-clinical. It has annual intake of 150 students for the MBBS course. This is a 4 1/2 year course followed by one year of compulsory rotatory internship.
